Grades 6-12

Applications for the upcoming school year are accepted from April 1 through August 31. The application is available on the BVS website. Grades K-5

Applications for the upcoming school year are accepted between April 1 and July 10. The K-5 program is operated by K12 Florida, a Florida Department of Education-approved virtual instruction provider.

Important Information for All Grade Levels

Applying for enrollment does not guarantee admission.
Students must reside locally.
Full-time students are subject to Broward County School Board policies regarding pupil progression (policy 4000).
Full-time BVS students work on their courses from home or any other remote location but are not registered as home education students with Broward County Public Schools.
New full-time BVS students must complete an orientation session with a parent or guardian before starting courses.
Full-time elementary school students are assigned to K12 Florida teachers.

How Online Elementary School Works

In elementary school, content is a blend of online and offline learning, with hands-on materials provided. Students join online class sessions with teachers and can work independently to varying degrees but do require support from their Learning Coach for much of the school day. Parents play an active role by partnering with teachers and their child. Learning Coaches work with teachers by helping monitor student attendance and mastery of online lessons and assessments.
