Ride into Your Future: Exploring Internship and Career Opportunities at Burton Snowboards

Burton Snowboards, founded by Jake Burton Carpenter in 1977, isn't just a snowboarding company; it's a lifestyle brand deeply rooted in the mountains and dedicated to the spirit of snowboarding. From its humble beginnings in a Vermont barn, Burton has grown into a global leader, driven by a passion for innovation, a commitment to its community, and a dedication to the planet. With a focus on people, planet, and the sport itself, Burton offers a unique and exciting environment for those looking to combine their professional aspirations with their love for the outdoors. The company emphasizes promoting an active outdoor lifestyle and supports its employees with a range of benefits. Burton employs a diverse crew of like-minded and talented individuals. They are dedicated to having as much fun as possible.

A Culture Carved from the Mountains

Everything Burton does started in the mountains. Their people, product, and playground are hallmarks of their brand and define their process and purpose. This ethos permeates every aspect of the company, from its dog-friendly work environment (bring your buddy to work every day!) to its commitment to sustainability. Burton prioritizes family above all else as a family-owned business. Rain, sun, snow, or shine-they love being outside. Leave the ironing for snowboard tuning. Burton is proud to recognize themselves as a certified B-Corporation. They set high standards because they're committed to creating a positive impact, for all people, and for our planet.

Burton's Commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Supporting justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion isn’t a passing fad at Burton Snowboards -it’s core to who they are and how they operate. They believe their purpose work is fundamental to the long-term success of both their business and the sport of snowboarding. That’s why every year, Burton donates between $1 and $2 million to nonprofits and grassroots organizations advancing climate justice and equitable access to the outdoors.

They also co-founded and continue to host Culture Shifters-an initiative envisioned by Selema Masekela and Zeb Powell, and brought to life by Burton Snowboards. Culture Shifters has amplified the voices of people of color on snow, uniting BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) change-makers to shape a snowboarding culture that truly reflects the sport’s future-diverse, inclusive, and empowering.

Burton knows that real progress is built on partnership, perseverance, and purpose.
