The presentation of the game is impressive, with precise details of every team and stadium, capturing the unique traditions and pageantry of every FBS school. The commentators stressed the hours they put into the game, and there are so many fresh takes coming from the booth where the same things don't get repeated over and over again.

The gameplay feels like an updated version of NCAA Football 14. The movements are crisp, yet there's nuance in what is needed to execute plays. Passing is much more precise, and how good your quarterback is will determine how easy − or hard − it is to air the ball. Players will be heavily rewarded for finding the open lanes, and juking out defenders will leave a smile on anyone's face.

Legal and Development Background

Following the release of the series' previous entry in 2013, Electronic Arts (EA) settled a lawsuit brought by former college football players who argued their name, image and, likeness (NIL) were used without permission or compensation. Initially, player names and likenesses were not to be included in the game. Because of this, several schools, including Notre Dame, Tulane and Northwestern refused to join the game until NIL rules were finalized. EA Sports responded by stating "player name, image and likeness is not currently planned for the game. However, we are watching the developments in this area closely and are prepared to take steps to include players should that opportunity arise." At the time, the NCAA had delayed and not voted on new NIL rules, but over two dozen states had either passed or proposed laws so that institutions couldn't enforce the NCAA's NIL rules. The 2021 United States Supreme Court case NCAA. v. Alston further impacted NIL rules.

On November 22, 2022, EA Sports announced that the game would be released sometime in summer 2024. On February 22, 2024, EA Sports announced that all 134 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) programs would be featured in EA Sports College Football 25 but the 128 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) programs would not be included at launch.

Player Ratings: Player ratings matter, and if you're going against a star player, it'll take a massive effort to slow them down.
Defensive Play: Playing defense is tough. College football is all about the offense, and it shows. It was difficult to get many stops and force punts. The majority of games played were shootouts.
Kicking: Kicking is also much more difficult; the meters for power and accuracy are very sensitive, and field goals outside 35-yards aren't a guarantee.

EA Sports will reveal the full scope of the game's features in May, though the announcement trailer confirms the inclusion of high school football to expand the Road to Glory mode.
