An Atypical Application Process

Matthews said she wants to become a pharmacist and open a chain of mobile and brick-and-mortar pharmacies. “It’s all for my grandparents and my parents as I’ve seen their struggles with medicine, affordability as well as accessibility, so I wanna fix that problem in the Black and low-income communities in Atlanta,” Matthews said.
A Representation of Greatness
Westlake High’s interim principal, Gregory Minnis, praised Matthews for her exceptional dedication. With her A-average GPA, Matthews remains a positive figure to her fellow students. Minnis agreed that the young woman is already a representation of greatness.
Future Plans
Matthews has not yet decided which school she will attend, but the prospects of her school of choice leading to a full-ride scholarship are high. She is leaning toward choosing Florida A&M University, Howard University or Ohio State University. While she won’t receive the full $6 million, the scholarships will cover her entire education.
