Understanding Christ the King School Tuition
Christ the King Catholic High School, a member of Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools (MACS), which consists of nine Catholic schools in the Charlotte metropolitan area, offers a comprehensive education. Tuition expenses are determined by grade level and curriculum. MACS is dedicated to embracing all families who desire to invest in their children's Catholic education. MACS is pleased to offer Family Individualized Tuition in order to make Catholic education accessible to as many families as possible.
Family Individualized Tuition (FIT) Program
Your student's tuition rate and your family's capital fee are determined by several factors, including your family's demonstrated need, through the FIT program, which provides an individualized approach to affording Catholic education. MACS collaborates with Clarity, an independent third party, to aid with need assessments. Tuition costs and capital fees are set aside. Grants do not cover the entire cost of tuition. The percentage of tuition aid awarded to families varies from year to year depending on the amount of documented need and the amount of funds available.
Financial Aid Opportunities
There are additional financial aid opportunities available. The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA) provides two scholarship programs for students in grades K-12. The Opportunity Scholarship Program (OSP) is an income-based scholarship that provides up to $7,686 per student each school year. Family household income determines awards. NCSEAA's ESA+ scholarship may be a good fit for students with certain disabilities. New families interested in NCSEAA scholarships should apply before March 1st. Applications open in early February.

Parish Support and Tuition Rates
Children of families who are active members of Christ the King parish or other Catholic parishes and who have filed a Parish Verification form will receive the annually determined Catholic tuition rate. Active membership in a parish is understood to mean that the family worships in the parish and contributes of time, talent, and financial resources to support the parish.
Participating households of Christ the King Parish may request subsidized tuition from the Parish, so that the tuition is reduced to the amount of $9,947 for the first child and $8,853 for each additional child for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Parishioners of other parishes may also qualify for the subsidized rate if their home parish pastor agrees to provide an equivalent subsidy, but please note that there are no subsidies for PreK either from Christ the King or from a family's home parish. Tuition for all PreK-4 students is $11,185.
Additional Fees
All families with children in grades 5-8 pay Chromebook Leasing Fee per ($200.00) student. The purchase/rental of books and payment of individual and family fees can be included in the tuition payment plan. For the 2026-2027 school year, the per-pupil charge is $425.
Non-Discrimination Policy
All Catholic schools of the St. Louis Archdiocese shall admit students of any race, color, or national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at these schools. The schools shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, or ethnic origin in admission policies, scholarships, athletic and other school-administered programs.

How to Apply for Tuition Assistance
All applicants who will need tuition assistance for the 2026-27 school year must complete the application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment by March 2. Applicants should apply online through FACTS (link below). The application will be available January 1.
Once an online application has been completed, the following information must be sent to FACTS to complete the application process:
- A copy of your most recent Federal tax return and all supporting schedules. If your 2025 tax return is not complete, your 2024 tax return is required.
- A copy of your 2025 W-2 forms for both spouses if only 2024 tax return is submitted.
- A copy of supporting documentation for Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers' Compensation, and TANF.
Additional Financial Support
The cost to educate one child during the 2025-2026 school year is at least $12,000. Tuition only covers a portion of the expenses. To keep the cost of Catholic education affordable for families, multiple children from the same family pay a declining percentage of the one-child tuition rate. This means the tuition covered by the parish ranges from $4,400.0 to $14,322.00 depending on the number of students per family. This amount covered by the parish is paid through Sunday collections and donations.
New families to Christ the King School are required to pay a nonrefundable registration fee of $200 per child through FACTS. This enrollment fee is due and payable within five business days of notification of acceptance.
Another way to receive Tuition Assistance for a Christ the King education is through the Central Washington Catholic Foundation. The priority window for returning families is April 1 and for new families it is May 1. The application does require families to upload their W-2's and tax returns. The Central Washington Catholic Foundation will continue to award TAP until their funding is exhausted. Click here for more information. Catholic Foundation awards are given based on the highest need across the entire Diocese, not based on school. The Central Washington Catholic Foundation's Tuition Assistance Program Application is now open for families.

Understanding the Full Cost of Education
Tuition does not cover the genuine cost of education at Christ the King School. For this reason, we added a third column to the tuition grid that reflects the full cost to educate at Christ the King School. With gratitude for your continued support and trust in our school, we invite you to prayerfully consider making an additional investment in your child's education by choosing to pay the full cost of educating your child(ren) at Christ the King.
