Conchita Espinosa Academy: A Comprehensive Overview
When considering your child's education, long-term planning is essential. While the current school year is underway, parents are already looking ahead to the next year, seeking the best and most appropriate school for their children. Conchita Espinosa Academy (CEA) stands out as a distinguished private school in Miami, Florida, offering a comprehensive educational experience for students from K3 through 8th grade.
A Legacy of Excellence
Since 1933, CEA has been committed to its founder's vision by employing The Espinosa Method, designed to ignite students' curiosity and encourage their love of learning, helping them to grow as well-rounded, kind, and confident human beings.
Campus and Facilities
The CEA campus, spanning 10 lush acres, features four distinct facilities:
- The main school building.
- The Early Childhood Learning Center.
- The Conservatory of the Arts.
- A state-of-the-art track and sports fields.
Curriculum and Educational Approach
CEA provides a solid academic curriculum where lower school students acquire the necessary skills and knowledge, allowing them to grow. The curriculum encompasses more than the standard format of reading, language arts, math, social studies, and science.
Early Childhood Program
CEA's early childhood program provides students with the opportunity to develop the natural curiosity and sense of wonder inherent in all children. The academy strives to create experiences that enhance intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth while honoring the unique time in life known as childhood.

Upper School Experience
Upper school is the culmination of the eleven-year process students experience at CEA. The upper school is uniquely designed to meet the challenges of the early teen years. At Conchita, students learn by living and experiencing numerous facets of life - from academics to sports, CEA’s signature Mastery Program, the development of character, and the integral role of the arts in human development.
The Mastery Program
The Mastery Program is a unique experience that inspires students to discover and further develop an area of focus and passion during specific learning periods.
Focus on Arts
At CEA, the visual and performing arts are a central part of the curriculum. Beyond their intrinsic value, the arts serve as an important conduit to learning important life skills. CEA benefits from having the Conservatory of the Arts, which offers conservatory-style classes from beginner to professional levels in dance, music, visual arts, and martial arts.
Developmental Sports
CEA offers Developmental Sports programs for K4 through 8th grade, which provide students the opportunity to further develop and improve their skills and knowledge of a particular sport, without requiring a try-out. Children will be exposed to fun activities that help to develop their coordination and motor skills, while continuing to work on their athletic abilities.
Sports and Extracurricular Activities
CEA offers a wide array of sports and extracurricular activities, fostering a well-rounded educational experience. The academy offers 13 interscholastic sports: Ballet, Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Cross Fit, Dance, Flag Football, Intramural Sports Only, Martial Arts, Soccer, Track and Field, Volleyball and Winter Track.

Extracurriculars include 28 activities designed to cater to diverse interests and talents.
Student Life and Community
In a K-8 educational setting, children can remain “young” and preserve the sacredness of childhood for the entire period of childhood. Students grow from being the youngest at our Miami private elementary school to taking on leadership roles as the oldest, giving them an opportunity to serve as role models and thrive with a vibrant sense of community.
CEA fosters independence from an early age, encouraging children to take responsibility for their academic and sport commitments. Music ignites all areas of child development: intellectual, social and emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together.
The school’s minority student enrollment is 97.7%, reflecting a diverse student body. The school body represents 20 countries, countless nationalities, and many different religions. The multicultural nature of the school helps to fulfill an important part of the mission-to challenge children to learn more about themselves by exploring the wider world.
Faculty and Academics
The student-teacher ratio at CEA is 12:1, ensuring personalized attention for each student. Daily Lunch is provided. Children will continue to receive daily math and reading instruction in a fun and creative way, in order to continue to develop their skills in these areas and further prepare them for the school year ahead.
