For students considering exchange programs, Curtin offers a wide array of units (equivalent to classes/courses) from most fields of study. However, it's important to note that certain fields like Law, Medicine, Midwifery, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, and Speech Pathology are generally not available to exchange students. Flexibility in choosing units is key, and having multiple back-up options is recommended. You may need to use the current academic year’s unit list as a guide for what might be available for the term you want to study at Curtin University.

- PC2 Superlab: A physical containment level 2 teaching lab featuring advanced equipment for identifying and classifying bacteria, enabling students to analyze samples and report results as an industry laboratory would.
- Allied health clinics: Offering Curtin Health Sciences students practical experience with real patients through placements in specialist clinics in psychology, physiotherapy, exercise, oral health, or speech.

- Curtin Tax Clinic: A student-run clinic where taxation students help members of the public with their tax returns under the supervision of experienced tax practitioners.
- Stock trading tools: At Curtin Business School, students can get hands-on experience with Refinitiv Eikon trading and financial analysis software.
- Media Production Studio: Featuring interactive media facilities with HD and 4K-compatible technology, and industry-standard digital recording and post-production vision and sound editing systems.
- Curtin HIVE: the Hub for Immersive Visualisation and eResearch: A learning and research facility comprising advanced equipment for visualisation, virtualisation and simulation.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Curtin is committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among its students and staff. The university has a dedicated ‘Curtinnovation’ team that delivers a range of entrepreneurship programs. For example, over the past 22 years, our Ignition program has upskilled more than 700 entrepreneurs and 550 new businesses to make their mark in the start-up industry. And in 2024, Curtin is offering a new Bachelor of Innovation degree, for students who think outside the box, strive for change, or aspire to set up their own future businesses. Applying to Curtin
To apply to study a Curtin University course, select your preferred course and follow the steps to apply. Applicants must satisfy the academic entry requirements, course subject prerequisites and English language requirements for the course. If you do not meet all the criteria, you may gain entry to Curtin by applying via our alternative entry pathways.
The Australian academic year runs from February to December. Semester One runs from mid-February to late June, and Semester Two runs from mid-July to late November.
