Facilitators present engaging, interactive lectures and lead group discussions, games, and skills-practice activities. This is the only comprehensive, evidence-based, age-appropriate curriculum for elementary, middle, and high school students.

Mental Health Support and Education
Recognizing that mental health is integral to overall well-being, the DeKalb County Regional Office of Education collaborates with the DeKalb County Mental Health Coalition to provide training and resources that promote mental health awareness and support.
The DeKalb County Mental Health Coalition
The DeKalb County Mental Health Coalition, consisting of Family Service Agency, Adventure Works, and the DeKalb County Regional Office of Education, provides trainings on the 40 Developmental Assets. This framework was created by Search Institute® consisting of preventative measures, positive experiences, and qualities that young people need to grow up healthy, caring and responsible. These assets are protective factors that have been consistently shown, by research, to buffer youth from risk.
Family Service Agency of DeKalb County
At Family Service Agency of DeKalb County we strive to be community leaders in healing, mentoring, and educating. Mental health impacts every individual uniquely. Whether you are an organization experiencing a crisis, a school looking for staff development, or a summer camp seeking team bonding, our Center for Counseling has clinicians available to provide education on mental health. We provide information on a variety of topics including trauma, compassion fatigue, grief, maladaptive behaviors, and much more. As a non-profit organization, we appreciate every opportunity to engage with DeKalb County residents. Whether it’s Pridefest, an NIU internship fair, a Chamber showcase, or something else, we will always try to be there! A member of the Family Service Agency team can present at your organization, business, church, or school to provide an overview of our agency or any of our five programs!
