Disney Live Entertainment Tech Internship, Spring 2026

The Entertainment Tech Intern will participate in equipment staging for all Walt Disney World theme parks, water parks, Disney Springs, and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. They support the Parks’ technical daily operation, atmosphere shows, parades, props logistics, and special events.

The intern assists Stage Technicians and performs the detailed operation of audio/video/lighting equipment, adhering to stage manager cues, time code, and/or self-cued events. They will also assist with safety checks before, during, and after performances to ensure safe performance.

This is a 5-month internship from January 2026 to May 2026, located in Orlando, FL. The pay rate for this role in Orlando is $20.14 per hour.

Costume Support Internship

The Costume Support team supports costume inventory management and handles the life cycle of fabrics for The Walt Disney Company Worldwide. As a Customer Support intern, you will report to the Area Manager of Character Inventory.

The approximate date of this internship is June 2026 to January 2027, located in Orlando, FL.

On any given day, the intern could assist with Corporate Character Costume orders, work with our Materials Handling team, support Operational garment needs, or focus on a site-specific project.

Key Requirements and Skills

Required Qualifications & Skills for Tech Internship

Physical Stamina: The role is physically taxing and requires frequent lifting, climbing, squatting, and standing for long periods. The ability to work in inclement or extreme weather conditions is essential.
Theatrical Experience: Entertainment technicians work within a live-show theatrical environment (environments such as radio, television, or film do not meet the qualifications).
Technical Understanding: A validated understanding of theatrical terminology, documentation, and show-related equipment, including exposure to tech staging assist, props, and/or puppetry with an understanding of electrical circuitry.
Communication Skills: Strong oral/written communication with leadership experience, excellent interpersonal and partnership skills
Education: Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or recent graduate, earning a degree in Theater, Technical Theater, Technical Production, or related field

Preferred Qualifications for Tech Internship

Technical experience in live entertainment in at least one of the following fields:
- Digital Audio and Sound Reinforcement
- Lighting with Conventional and Moving Light Operation
- Rigging
- Video Engineering and Projection Mapping
- Show Control/Automation
- Advanced System Networking

Required Qualifications & Skills for Costume Support Internship

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Smartsheet
Knowledge of accounting and purchasing practices, such as Accounts Payable
Self-starter with the ability to multitask with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Theater or performing background, ideal
Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student earning a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Data Management, Fashion Merchandising, Costume Technology, Apparel Buying, Apparel Development, Sourcing, or related field

General Eligibility Requirements

Regardless of the specific internship, certain eligibility requirements apply:

Enrollment Status: Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Age: Be at least 18 years of age.
Work Authorization: Possess unrestricted work authorization.
Driving License: Possess a valid US driver’s license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle.
Previous Employment: Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.
Availability: Fully available Sunday through Saturday, for the duration of the internship, 40 hours per week
