Navigating Knowledge: A Guide to East Tennessee State University Library Resources
East Tennessee State University (ETSU) offers a wealth of library resources designed to support students, faculty, and staff in their academic and research pursuits. Understanding and utilizing these resources effectively is crucial for success in today's information-driven environment. This guide provides a comprehensive overview of the library services, access methods, and specialized support available at ETSU.
Accessing Library Resources
On-Campus Access
ETSU provides various avenues for accessing library resources, catering to different needs and preferences. The physical libraries offer a conducive environment for study and research, equipped with computer workstations, iMacs, color printers, and scanners. Loanable technology includes MacBooks and scientific calculators.
Remote Access
Recognizing the needs of off-campus students and faculty, ETSU's Remote Services provides seamless access to the Library's resources and services. Library users can access online databases, the online catalog, and the Library's homepage from remote sites. Off-campus access to the libraries' resources may require your TSU login and password. Please select the first option on the Open Athens screen that offers access to TSU Faculty Staff and Students. If you experience any difficulties signing on, contact the Head of Technology, Assessment and Systems.
Lean Library Browser Extension
Tennessee State Univesity subscribes to Lean Library, a browser extension that simplifies access to online content. Lean Library knows all the electronic resources TSU's Brown Daniel Library has access to, whether it's a library purchase or subscription service. Once installed, the extension will bring our university library to you anywhere, anytime. Lean Library will point TSU users to our library resources when they are searching. Regardless of how you arrive at an e-resource, Lean Library will alert you if you have access to an e-resource through the library. If you attempt to access an e-resource the library doesn't subscribe to; Lean Library will look for other ways to access the content, such as placing an interlibrary loan request or directing you to open access versions.
