Eligibility and Renewal Requirements

To be eligible for the Emerald Scholarship, students must demonstrate academic excellence through their high school GPA. The specific GPA requirements may vary, and beginning Fall 2026, some award amounts will also require a test score.

To maintain the Emerald Scholarship, students must:

Maintain full-time enrollment (at least 12 credits per semester).
Maintain a cumulative EMU GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress at Eastern Michigan University.
Renewable for three additional consecutive years
