Where You'll Be Located

Freeport-McMoRan's global headquarters are located in Phoenix, Arizona, where several hundred employees support operations across various departments, including accounting and finance, human resources, health and safety, information technology, and engineering. The company's hybrid internship program offers a flexible work arrangement, allowing interns to work virtually and collaborate in person at the Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or various site locations.

Interns participating in the hybrid program are expected to live within a 50-mile commuting distance of the company's corporate offices to ensure availability for in-person meetings and collaboration. Interns residing beyond this radius may be eligible for travel and housing assistance if relocation is required.

What You'll Do: A Glimpse into the Talent Management Internship

As a Talent Management intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the research, planning, design, and development of various Talent Management programs. This includes assisting with the coordination and marketing of these programs. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with the deployment of Talent Management products or services: This could involve Employee Experience initiatives, Onboarding programs, Career Development resources, Talent Development strategies, Employee Listening mechanisms, and Inclusion and Diversity programs.
  • Improving processes/practices within the Career Development Team.
  • Collaborating with other departments to identify solutions.
  • Accompanying team members to sites for Talent Management events or training deliveries supporting skill-based work.
  • Facilitating certain Career Development workshops.
  • Performing data entry, PowerPoint presentation creation, and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Conducting research and data collection through case studies and credible articles.
  • Assisting with outreach efforts in identifying best practices and trends in areas such as onboarding, retention, employee engagement, orientation, career development, talent development, and inclusion and diversity.

What You Bring to Freeport-McMoRan

To be eligible for the Talent Management internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a full-time student currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university pursuing a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Human Resources, Business, or a closely related field.OR
  • Be a recent graduate (within 12 months prior to the internship start date) with a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Human Resources, Business, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, organizational skills, and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications: While not mandatory, having prior experience or coursework related to talent management, human resources, or organizational development can be advantageous.
