Understanding Genesis Academy Tuition: A Comprehensive Guide

Genesis Academy is dedicated to providing a nurturing and innovative educational environment where students of different ages collaborate, explore, and thrive together. Founded by former public school teacher Tessa Ziemba, the modern one-room schoolhouse fosters a homeschool/family atmosphere, promoting strong bonds and a sense of belonging. The academy is committed to personalized learning that integrates exploration, hands-on experiences, and real-world connections. This article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of Genesis Academy's tuition structure, financial aid opportunities, and payment options.

Genesis Academy: An Overview

Genesis Academy, a microschool and learning center located in Sioux Falls, serves students typically ranging from ages 5 to 11 years old, encompassing what would conventionally be considered Kindergarten through 5th grade. Through field trips, guest speakers, and collaborative projects, the academy empowers students to discover their God-given passions, develop critical thinking skills, and become lifelong learners who reflect Christ-like character in all they do. The academy emphasizes small class sizes, supportive relationships, and continuity in tracking student progress from year to year.

The Value of a Genesis Academy Education

Genesis Prep Academy's vision includes a commitment “to provide a high quality, affordable educational experience built upon a biblical worldview and the basic tenets of the Christian faith.” Without any government funding, the school relies primarily on tuition income to sustain the quality of its programs and facilities. While the school’s board of directors realizes that “affordability” varies from family to family, it is actively working to become accessible to a growing number of students.

Tuition Philosophy and Increases

The Genesis Prep Board of Directors embraces a tuition philosophy that believes in annual increases which are consistent with cost-of-living ratios. This ensures that the academy can continue to provide a high-quality education while managing operational costs effectively.

Tuition Payment Options and Policies

Online Payments

Financial accounts can be seen and paid online 24/7 on www.Factsmgt.com. Families are encouraged to pay online using FACTS.

Late Fees

On the 6th of each month, unpaid accounts are assessed a $25 late fee. FACTS management will automatically add the $25 late fee to be paid the next month, and the fee will appear on the following month's invoice.

Enrollment and Tuition Obligations

If a K-12 student is not enrolled beyond 30 days, no further tuition obligation will be incurred. After 30 days of enrollment, commitment to pay the full tuition of the current semester is required. Chronically overdue student accounts may result in dismissal from school until accounts are brought current. All accounts must be in good standing at the end of 1st semester in order to continue enrollment in 2nd semester.

Payment Plans

  • Plan B: Tuition charges paid by semester - one-half of the total tuition charge paid on or before the first day of school.
  • Plan D: Yearly tuition charges are divided evenly and are to be paid over 12 monthly installments.

Other Payment Methods

You may also pay with check or cash at the business office. Two-party and post-dated checks are not accepted.

Genesis Academy is committed to making education accessible and offers several financial aid and scholarship opportunities to families who demonstrate financial need.
