Getting to Hamilton College and finding appropriate parking requires some planning. Whether you're attending a ceremony, visiting the Admission Office, or simply exploring the campus, this guide provides essential information on directions and parking regulations.
Directions to Hamilton College
From the New York City Area, New England, or West of Utica
If you are traveling from the New York City area, New England, or points west of Utica, the New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) is your best route.
- Take Exit 32 (Westmoreland).
- Turn right after the toll booth.
- Turn left onto State Route 233 South.
- Drive 5.2 miles, passing through two traffic lights, until you reach a flashing red light at the intersection of Route 233 and College Hill Road.
- Turn right onto College Hill Road.
- Proceed up the hill for 0.5 miles.
- Turn right onto Campus Road.
- The Siuda Admission House will be approximately 0.2 miles on your left.
From the South (via Interstate 81)
For those coming from the south via Interstate 81:
- Follow Interstate 81 through Binghamton, N.Y., to Exit 6 (Route 12).
- Follow Route 12 North through Norwich, Sherburne, and Waterville.
- After leaving the village of Waterville on Route 12, travel approximately 9 miles to Kellogg Street (the first left turn after Paris Hill Farms).
- Turn left onto Kellogg Street.
- Follow Kellogg Street for 2.8 miles to the stop sign in the Village of Clinton. (The Village Green will be ahead of you on the right.)
- Proceed straight onto College Street and continue through two traffic lights until you reach a flashing light at the entrance to the campus.
- Proceed up the hill for 0.5 miles.
- Turn right onto Campus Road.
- The Siuda Admission House will be about 0.2 miles on your left.
Parking Information
General Parking Regulations
Motorists should be aware that College Hill Road, Campus Road, and Griffin Road are all under the jurisdiction of Oneida County and the Town of Kirkland.
Hamilton College assumes no liability for loss or damage to any vehicles parked on College property or personal property left within, on, or around such vehicles.

After a vehicle receives ten citations in one academic year, the vehicle's owner, or permit holder, will lose parking privileges for the remainder of the year and is in jeopardy of losing parking privileges for future years. The owner or permit holder's parking permit will be revoked, and the owner, or permit holder, will be required to remove the vehicle within two weeks of privileges being revoked.
On rare occasions, exceptions are made to college parking policies.
Electric Vehicle Charging
For visitors with electric vehicles, ChargePoint electric chargers are available on campus, including spots reserved for visitors to the Admission Office.
