Livestream Classes: Attend our instructor-led Livestream real estate courses. Livestream classes connect you live with an instructor and classmates remotely - same experience, you decide the location. Our Livestream courses are most similar to the classroom learning experience, as they are taught by an instructor via Zoom in real-time. It’s a great option for students who benefit from an interactive instructor experience.
In-Person Classes: Complete course packages in a learning style that best fits your needs: in person, via livestream, or online at your own pace. Complete your required education in a format that fits your schedule, online, livestream or in person.

Ohio Real Estate License Requirements

To obtain your Ohio real estate license, you must meet certain requirements, including:

Completing the required pre-licensing education. As of April 9th, 2025 Real Estate pre-licensing for Ohio requires 100 hours of pre-licensing education. Complete 40 hours of Principles & Practices, 40 hours of Law, 10 hours of Finance and 10 hours of Appraisal.
Passing the Ohio real estate exam.
Meeting the minimum age requirement (18 years old).
Having a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must not have been convicted of a felony or a crime of moral turpitude. Not have violated any civil rights laws regarding real estate within the past two years as determined by a court of law or violated any rules of the Ohio Division of Real Estate. In some circumstances, it is possible to have a conviction or violation disregarded, which would allow you to sit for the exam. The Division may only make a determination with respect to a conviction or violation if you file an application.
Submitting fingerprints for a background check. Please Note: The Ohio Division of Real Estate now requires real estate applicants to have their fingerprints processed for background checks within ten days after filing their application.

Course Details

Below, you’ll find the 4 required courses you need to become a licensed real estate agent in Ohio. These courses can be taken in any order and can be completed online, in our virtual classrooms via Livestream, or a combination of both. Individual online courses can be accessed immediately after registration. If you prefer to take Livestream courses, you can select your individual course schedule AFTER you complete your purchase.

Principles & Practices: Learn how to create a dynamic career in real estate sales! The 40-hour course covers the theory and concepts of the field of real estate. This is an online self-paced course.
Real Estate Law: This 40-hour course covers responsibilities and requirements for real estate sales and broker licensing. This is an online self-paced course.
Real Estate Finance: This is an online self-paced course.
Real Estate Appraisal: This is an online self-paced course.

The additional 10 hour versions of Finance and Appraisal courses for brokers will be available in 2027. Anyone who applies for a broker’s license prior to 2027 will have taken the 20 hour versions of the course.

Course textbooks included. Currently, we are shipping all textbooks to enrolled students. Once you have registered for your course(s), the textbook(s) will be shipped to you within 24 hours. It is highly recommended that books are purchased, though not required. If you purchase a package, books will be included.
