Open Admissions and Credit for Prior Learning
Admission to WMCC is open to anyone who has the ability and desire to pursue a certificate or degree program. The school has an open admissions policy. It is the responsibility of all prospective students to review the associate degree or certificate requirements, standards, and expectations prior to submitting an official admissions application. For Nursing admissions requirements, refer to the Nursing program page.
Applicants seeking a degree or certificate must follow a specific procedure. First, they must take at least one course per year to maintain matriculated status, or they must apply for readmission and abide by any new requirements in place at that date. Applicants must also file a WMCC admissions application form. To do so, applicants should visit wmcc.edu to apply online or print an application and send it to WMCC, 2020 Riverside Drive, Berlin, NH, 03570. Applicants may need to submit evidence of high school graduation (or HiSET/GED) with an official transcript of courses, grades, and standardized tests.
WMCC recognizes that learners bring with them a unique body of knowledge and skills developed over time. Because we believe our learners bring with them a unique body of knowledge and skills developed over time, we provide students the opportunity to demonstrate their acquisition of college-level learning gained outside of the traditional classroom setting. The school offers credit for life experiences. In accordance with the guidelines established by the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) and the recommendations made by the American Council on Education (ACE), WMCC provides options for students to progress more quickly toward program or degree completion through earning credit for prior learning, including transfer credit, credit by examination, and credit for experiential learning through prior learning portfolio assessment.
Accreditation and Nursing Program Excellence
White Mountains Community College (WMCC) has earned national accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) for its Associate of Science in Nursing program, which prepares students for positions as Registered Nurses. ACEN accreditation is the leading national authority in ensuring that nursing programs meet high-quality, rigorous standards of teaching and learning outcomes.
The accreditation signifies the program's commitment to preparing students for entry into the profession as Registered Nurses. The entire process took two years to complete. Programs like WMCC’s Associate of Science in Nursing aim to fill this gap by preparing the next generation of nurses with the skills needed to quickly enter the field. The program also allows graduates to continue their education in Bachelor of Science programs.

Affordability and Financial Aid
WMCC is committed to ensuring that a college education is within everyone’s reach. Few students can afford to pay for college without some form of educational financing. WMCC is aware of the financial burden of meeting college costs. The Financial Aid Office encourages students to apply for assistance. Federal, state, and private scholarship funds awarded by the College are often limited. Students should apply for financial aid as soon after October 1 as possible for the upcoming academic year.
In-state tuition and fees were $7,050. Out-of-state tuition and fees were $15,300. Books and supplies are estimated at $1,400 per year. At White Mountains Community College, 75 percent of undergraduates receive grant or scholarship aid and the average scholarship or grant award is $4,484. There is no application fee.
If a student has a credit balance after financial aid has paid the student’s tuition and fees, that student’s admission, registration, and class attendance must be confirmed before the student can receive refunds from grants or excess loan funds. To receive this disbursement, the student should allow at least forty-five days from the beginning of the first class. If financial aid (grant or excess loan funds) exceeds the student’s tuition and fee charges for the semester, the student may qualify for a book advance, to be used at the WMCC Bookstore.
Campus Life and Services
WMCC's campus is located in a town. The school utilizes a semester-based academic year. The total entering students are 269. WMCC provides a range of campus services to support students, including:
