Understanding Diploma Mailing Times: A Comprehensive Guide

Navigating the diploma mailing process can be a source of anticipation and sometimes anxiety for graduating students. This article aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the diploma mailing timeline, factors influencing delivery, and essential steps to ensure a smooth and timely receipt of your well-deserved academic credential.

Degree Conferral and Transcript Updates

Undergraduate and graduate students can complete the requirements for their degree(s) at the end of each respective quarter throughout an academic year, and the date of completion of all requirements should be recognized by the degree conferral deadlines for each quarter. The Board of Trustees, at their meeting on September 17, 1986, empowered the president to grant degrees at the end of each quarter. A list of prospective degree candidates for each term is generated based on the application for degree submitted by students through DrexelOne, who expect to complete their degree requirements in a given term. This list is used by the colleges to clear students for graduation which is done at the end of each term's grading cycle. The timeliness of this process is imperative to avoid unnecessary billing and academic record issues. You can confirm that your degree has been awarded by logging into DrexelOne. Degrees appear on transcripts with an award date of May 20, 2026.

Key Deadlines for Diploma Information

Several deadlines are crucial to ensure your diploma is accurately printed and delivered to the correct address. For instance, for Spring 2026 graduates, June 11, 2026, is the last day to submit any changes for diploma name or address. Other important deadlines include September 4, 2025, and January 16, 2026, for specific graduating classes. It's essential to mark these dates in your calendar and promptly submit any necessary updates to avoid potential delays or misprints.

Diploma Mailing Timeline

Please note that diplomas typically start to be sent out within two business weeks of the conferral date and depending on location could take 3-4 weeks to reach their destination, so the address supplied should be one in which someone can physically accept the package once it arrives. The Office of the Registrar will send out a final confirmation of the shipping address provided as well as name to be printed on the diploma prior to the actual conferral.

Both the physical hardcopy diploma and a diploma case will be shipped to the address supplied by the student in the mandatory Application to Graduate available in Banner web. The Office of the Registrar will send out a final confirmation of the shipping address provided as well as name to be printed on the diploma prior to the actual conferral.

During the Master's ceremony all attendees names are announced as they cross the stage and are provided with a symbolic diploma case that is used for the professional photograph station on site and then the case will be immediately returned to the stage by commencement staff.
