Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), also known as Al-Imam University (IMAMU), stands as a prominent public university in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Its journey began in 1950 with the establishment of an Islamic seminary by Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ash-Sheikh, the first Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia. The university's development continued with the merger of the Islamic Law College and the Arabic Language College in Riyadh. The foundation stone of its current university building was laid on January 5, 1982, during the reign of King Khalid Ibn Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, and opened its doors in 1990.
IMSIU is named after Muhammad bin Saud Al Muqrin, a leader from Diriyah, reflecting its deep roots in Saudi history and culture.

IMSIU's main campuses are located in Riyadh, featuring separate facilities for male and female students. The campus occupies an area of 7,029,034 m2, including the University City for Male Students with an area of 2,769,724 m2, almost 39 percent of the total campus area, and King Abdullah City for Female Students with an area of 1,701,885 m2, approximately 24 percent of the total area. The remaining area encompasses housing for faculty members, student accommodation, and the sports area.
The university also operates an internal TV channel, a college studio, and Mira'at Al-Jami’ah (a weekly published newspaper).
The main library, known as the Prince Sultan Library For Science and Knowledge, was established in 1952.

IMSIU is a tuition-free institution and offers scholarships to students from around the world. The university provides various forms of support to its students. Students in science and health fields receive approximately $264 each month, while those in humanities fields get about $224 each month.
