Key Locations at IU South Bend
Administration Building and University Center
- Address: 1700 Mishawaka Avenue
- Parking: Available in lots along 20th Street or Esther Street.
- Functions: This building houses essential administrative offices, including admissions, financial aid, and academic advising. It also contains the Titan Success Center, Hammes Bookstore, a campus grill, veteran services, career services, and parking services. The Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics is also located here.
Education & Arts Building
- Address: 1002 Esther Street
- Functions: The Education & Arts Building is home to the School of Education, dental education offices, classrooms, and a clinic. It also features art studios, rehearsal rooms, an art gallery, and a 126-seat auditorium. Students can obtain their Crimson Cards at the University Information Technology Services (UITS) office located in this building.
Fine Arts Building
- Address: 1717 Ruskin Street
- Functions: This building provides studio and classroom space for artists, photographers, and printmakers. It also houses offices and a slide archives.
Franklin D. Schurz Library
- Address: 1750 Hildreth Street
- Functions: The Schurz Library is a central hub for academic resources. It houses the Ace Tutoring Center, study areas, and a commuter lounge. With nearly 600,000 volumes and subscriptions to over 2,000 periodicals, the library offers extensive research materials. It also includes over 350,000 pieces of microfilm and microfiche and more than 25,000 audio and video items. The library is part of the Indiana University Libraries system.
Northside Hall

Vera Z. Dwyer Hall

- Functions: Overlooking the St. Joseph River, Vera Z. Dwyer Hall houses the Clinical Laboratory Sciences program and the HealthLinc Medical Clinic.
Student Activities Center
- Address: 941 20th Street
- Functions: The Student Activities Center (SAC) is the center of student life at IU South Bend. The 100,000 square-foot facility includes basketball, volleyball, and racquetball courts, a walking track, a fitness and wellness center, a café, a student lounge, and student life offices. It hosts the men’s and women’s basketball teams and the women’s volleyball team.
Wiekamp Hall
- Address: 1800 Mishawaka Avenue
- Functions: Wiekamp Hall contains computer labs, a language lab, 16 classrooms, faculty offices, and a 150-seat lecture hall. It houses the administrative offices for the College of Arts and Sciences.
Civil Rights Heritage Center
- Address: 1040 W Washington St, South Bend (Off-Campus)
- Functions: The Civil Rights Heritage Center is located in a former segregated swimming pool facility. It serves as an active learning center with event and exhibit space, and a lending library.
Elkhart Center

- Functions: The Elkhart Center houses the Elkhart Speech-Language Clinic, the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, and advanced health sciences Masters programs in occupational therapy and speech language pathology.

The Herman B Wells Library at Indiana University Bloomington houses an extensive map collection.
Collection Details: The collection includes maps from nearly every country in the world, dating from the 19th Century to the present. It is a circulating research collection with strengths in maps of the Midwestern United States, Russia, Eastern Europe, and the African Continent. The collection also includes internet memes, maps from film and television, board game maps, and pictorial maps.
Location: Located on the 2nd floor of the East Tower in the Wells Library. Available to view by appointment only.
