Jacurri Brown, born on September 4, 2003, is an American college football quarterback currently playing for the Rice Owls. High School Career
Brown attended Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Georgia, where he showcased his dual-threat capabilities. As a senior, he amassed 1,537 passing yards and 1,101 rushing yards, contributing to a total of 30 touchdowns.
Miami Hurricanes (2022-2023)
Freshman Year (2022)
Brown entered his true freshman year at Miami in 2022 as a backup to Tyler Van Dyke. However, an injury to Van Dyke provided Brown with an opportunity to start his first career game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He capitalized on this chance, completing 14 of 19 passes for 136 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 87 yards. He started the following week against the Clemson Tigers before returning to the backup role. Overall, he appeared in eight games, completing 27 of 45 passes for 230 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also rushed for 221 yards on 53 carries.
Sophomore Year (2023)
In 2023, Brown's playing time was limited. He made only one appearance as a starter in the 2023 Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl against Rutgers in December. During the game, he completed 20 of 31 passes for 181 yards with one touchdown and one interception, and he rushed for 57 yards on 15 carries.
UCF Knights (2024)
In 2024, Brown transferred to UCF, initially as a backup to KJ Jefferson.
