The UNG Department of Public Safety is a full-service law enforcement agency serving all five campuses. Officers with the Department perform all law enforcement duties, including patrol, traffic enforcement, traffic accident reporting, and criminal investigations.UNG's Department of Public Safety has a thorough hiring process that ensures the selection of the best applicants for their Police Department, given that employment in law enforcement agencies involves public trust.

Applicants should be aware of certain factors that could disqualify them, such as:

  • Compensation & Classification Consultant: Provides compensation and classification services within University Human Resources, serving as a knowledgeable and responsive resource to the university community.

Student Support Services

  • Financial Aid Advisor: Advises students and parents regarding federal, state and institutional student financial aid, and assists with related student financial aid application processes.
  • Associate Director: Assists the Director in ensuring the University provides a fair and respectful environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors that is free from discrimination and harassment. The Associate Director conducts investigations of complaints of harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct.
  • Peer Mentors: The College of Engineering’s Advancement and Community Development team is looking for Peer Mentors to assist with the Engineering Academic Boot Camp for the summer. This is a part-time position.
  • Student Assistant: Provides direct support to the Material Services Department or other departments, such as assisting in uploading radiograph images into proprietary software for the Diagnostic Imaging service.

Important Policies and Information

  • Background Investigations: In compliance with the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia policy, employment with UNG is contingent upon successfully passing a background investigation.

Payroll records are retained for a minimum of three (3) years from the date of record creation.
