The College Years and Professional Journey of Kareem Hunt
Kareem AJ Hunt, born on August 6, 1995, is an American professional football running back. His journey to the NFL began with a successful college career at the University of Toledo, which paved the way for him to be drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Early Years at Toledo
Hunt's college career at Toledo showcased his talent and potential. In 2013, as a freshman, Hunt quickly made an impact, playing in 12 games and starting in three. He rushed for 866 yards on 137 carries, scoring six touchdowns. He had a strong four-game stretch in the season with 127 rushing yards and two touchdowns against Navy, 114 rushing yards and a touchdown against Bowling Green, 168 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns against Eastern Michigan, and 186 rushing yards and a touchdown against Buffalo.
Sophomore Season setbacks
As a sophomore, Hunt's playing time was affected by an injury, limiting him to 10 games. Despite missing three games, he maintained a high level of performance, rushing for at least 101 yards in each of the 10 games he played.
Junior Year Challenges
The 2015 season presented further challenges. Hunt was suspended for the first two games due to a violation of team rules. Upon his return in the third game, he suffered an injury that sidelined him for the subsequent two games. Despite these setbacks, he managed to accumulate 973 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns over the course of the season.
Record-Breaking Senior Year
In 2016, Hunt played in all 13 games. He led the Mid-American Conference (MAC) with 262 rush attempts and 1,475 rushing yards, including a 200-yard performance in a game against Western Michigan. His 4,945 career rushing yards broke Chester Taylor's school record and ranked third in MAC conference history.

His NFL debut on September 7, 2017, against the New England Patriots, was a memorable one. Despite fumbling on his first career carry, he quickly rebounded, catching two touchdown passes and rushing for another.
