Keyshawn Hall: A Collegiate Basketball Journey

Keyshawn Hall has carved out an impressive career in collegiate basketball, showcasing his talents across multiple universities and conferences. From his early days at UNLV to his standout performances at UCF and George Mason, and now making waves with the Auburn Tigers, Hall has consistently demonstrated his scoring ability, rebounding prowess, and overall impact on the court.

Early Years and High School

Before making his mark in college basketball, Keyshawn Hall honed his skills at various levels. In high school, he attended Denver Prep in Colorado, where he led the league in scoring with an average of 24 points per game, while also contributing five rebounds and five assists. His efforts helped the Yetis reach the conference championship game. Prior to his time at Denver Prep, Hall competed for Cleveland Heights High School and the Skill Factory in Georgia, further developing his game. He played AAU ball for the Mid-Ohio Pumas.

UNLV (2022-23)

Hall began his college career at UNLV, where he played in 17 games and averaged 5.7 points in just 10.8 minutes per contest. He demonstrated his scoring potential early on, reaching double figures in four games, including a season-high 19-point performance against Utah State on January 17. During a three-game stretch, he scored 39 points in just 64 minutes, shooting an impressive 66.7 percent from the field. Hall proved to be efficient throughout the season, shooting 47.9 percent overall and 50 percent from beyond the arc. He contributed to the Rebels' 19 wins in a competitive Mountain West Conference.

George Mason (2023-24)

Hall transferred to George Mason for his sophomore year, where he experienced a breakout season. He was named NABC First Team All-District and All-Atlantic 10 Second Team. Hall ranked fourth in the A-10 in scoring during league play, averaging 18.1 points per game. He was one of only 14 players in the nation to average 17+ points, 8+ rebounds, and 1.5+ assists on the year. Hall led the A-10 in both defensive rebounding (7.2 drpg) and overall rebounding (8.4 rpg), while also ranking second in double-doubles (nine). He ranked fourth in the league in free throw percentage in conference play (.880) and was seventh in overall field goal percentage (.478). Hall scored 10+ points in 22 of the 29 games he played and tallied 20+ points in 10 contests. Some notable performances include:

  • Team highs in points (29), rebounds (12) and assists (three) vs. Cornell on Nov. 15.
  • Notched 21 points and 15 rebounds on Nov. 20 vs. South Dakota State, registering just the ninth 20+ point/15+ rebound performance by a George Mason player since 2010.
  • His 36-point, 12-rebound game vs. Bridgewater (Va.) was only the second 30+/10+ effort by a Patriot since 2010.
  • Had game highs in points (27, 10-17 FG) and rebounds (10) to go along with three assists at La Salle on Jan. 3.
  • Recorded a game-high 25 points (9-17 FG), two steals at UMass on Feb. 3.
  • Compiled team-highs in points (20), rebounds (eight) vs. Loyola Chicago on Feb. 7.
  • Posted a game-high 25 points (3-5 3pt, 10-11 FT) at Davidson on Feb. 10, with 23 of the 25 total points coming in the second half.
  • Had game highs in points (20), rebounds (12), blocks (two) vs. GW on Feb. 13.

UCF (2024-25)

As a junior at UCF, Hall continued to elevate his game. He was named NABC Second Team All-District (Southeast), All-Big 12 Second Team, and Big 12 Newcomer Team. He also earned Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors on January 20, 2025, for his 40-point performance at Arizona State. Hall played in all 33 of UCF's games, starting in each one and logging 1,104 minutes, the sixth-most in a season in UCF's history. He led the team in scoring average at 18.8 points per game and in rebounding with 7.1 rebounds per contest. His 620 points scored ranked ninth in UCF's single-season history. Hall shot 42.7% from the field (188-for-440), 35.4% from three-point range (45-for-127), and 81.6% from the free throw line (199-for-244). He set the UCF single-season record for free throws made (199) and attempted (244). Hall made 10 or more free throws in eight games, including a season-high 14 at Oklahoma State (Feb. 19). He tallied 80 assists, 27 steals, and 15 blocks. During Big 12 Conference play, he averaged 20.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, shooting 43.2% from the field and 38.6% from long range. Hall finished Big 12 play with the highest points per game clip in the conference and tied for the conference lead for points per game across the entire season.   • Scoring a career-best 40 points at Arizona State (Jan. 14), becoming the third UCF player in the program's Division I history to have a 40+ point game.
  • Sparking UCF to their conference-opening victory at Texas Tech (Dec. 31).
  • Earning four double-doubles on the campaign.
  • Recording 13 straight games with double-digit points, spanning from Jan. 21-March 5.
  • Having four straight contests where he scored 20+ points.

Auburn Tigers (2025-26)

As a senior, Hall transferred to Auburn, where he has continued to be a dominant force. Through games on Feb. 24, he has played in and started all 26 games for the Tigers. Hall is currently the only player in the SEC to rank top 10 in both scoring (20.8 - 4th) and rebounding (7.1 - 7th). He has scored in double figures in 25 of the 26 games he has played in, with sixteen 20+ point performances and seven double-doubles. Hall scored 28 in his first game as a Tiger against Bethune-Cookman. He had 25 points and 14 rebounds against Merrimack and followed that up with identical stat lines of 20 points and 11 rebounds against Wofford and No. 1 Houston. He scored 28 points and 10 rebounds against NC State while making 5-of-7 from long range. Hall scored 22 points with 11 rebounds and six assists against Chattanooga. He had 18 points, five rebounds and a career-high seven assists against Queens. He scored 20 at Georgia and had a season-high 32 points along with 12 rebounds against Texas A&M. Hall also scored 32 points against Arkansas and tied a career-high seven assists against Missouri. He is shooting 45.2 percent from the floor (149-of-330), 40.8 percent from 3-point range (49-of-120), and 86.2 percent from the free throw line (193-of-224). His 193 made free throws are the third most in the nation as of Feb. 25. Hall became the first player since Wesley Person in 1994 to score 30+ points in back-to-back SEC games. He recorded his 1,500th career point vs. Arkansas, had a team-high 19 points against Ole Miss and went 11-of-12 from the free throw line, scored 24 points at No. 16 Florida, including a career-high 22 in the first half, and scored 31 points versus Texas and went 14-of-17 from the free throw line in his third 30+ point game this season. Hall also scored 21 points against Tennessee and had 24 points and three steals vs. Kentucky.

Hall's confidence is evident, as he stated after a game against Texas, "Not to be cocky, but I feel like I’m the best player in college." His performance against Texas included a stellar stat line of 31 points on 7-13 shooting, including 3-6 from three-point range and 14-17 from the free throw line.

Hall's overall impact on the Auburn team is significant. He is averaging 20.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game, with an average shooting percentage well above 45%. He has proven to be a standout factor for an Auburn team that is looking more and more like a March Madness contender.

Personal Life

Born on April 9, 2003, Keyshawn is the son of Chanell Bonner and Larry Ellington. He has two brothers, Arroyal and Daeshawn, and a sister, Tauriae Jenkins. He is currently studying in the University College.
