Out-of-State Tuition Reduction Program
Effective the 17/18 academic year, Kutztown University created an Out-of-State Tuition Reduction Program which provided tuition savings for first-time non-resident undergraduate first-year and transfer students who meet the eligibility requirements at the time of application. The maximum allotment is 8 semesters and 6 semesters for transfer students. This rate pertains to full-time enrollment only (there is no full-time status in Winter or Summer sessions). Part-time enrollment is at the full non-Pa. Reduced rate only applicable to full-time enrollment, to those students making progress and only good for 8 semesters for new students and 6 for transfer students.
Mandatory Fees
In addition to tuition, students are required to pay various fees that support different aspects of university life and operations.
Student Activity Fee
A fee of $197.00 each semester is collected from all full-time students. Students taking from four to eleven credits are charged at the rate of $16.42 per credit hour. The fees are administered under regulations approved by the president of the university and the Student Government Association. Fees collected are used to cover costs of student activities in athletics, lectures, entertainment, student publications, etc. First-time students pay an additional $58.00 in student activity fees to cover the high costs associated with setting up orientation and other programs designed to serve the first-time student.
University Fee
A fee of $256 per semester is charged to each full-time student. The fee is prorated for part-time undergraduate students (21.33 per credit). This is a required fee.

Technology Fee

Instructional Equipment Fee
A fee equivalent to 10 percent of total tuition is charged to all undergraduate students. This fee is used to hire adjunct faculty, replace classroom equipment, purchase library books, and enhance instructional programs. This is a required fee. Transportation Fee
A fee of $68.00 is charged to all full-time undergraduates and $5.67 per credit is charged to all part-time undergraduate students. This fee is used for bus transportation service which traverse routes encompassing the north and south sides of campus as well as routes which include the local Kutztown community.

Health Center and Counseling Center Fee
Graduate students may elect to use the Health Center and Counseling Center on campus only if they pay the per credit charge of $22.08 per credit enrolled. Students electing to do this should talk to the university health center and they will request we add the fee to your account.

The fees are administered under regulations approved by the president of the university and the Student Government Association. Housing and Meal Plan Costs
Housing
Students, not in their first academic year, who are required to live on campus, or choose to live on campus, must process a Housing Preference Sheet and contract. The processing fee is $100.00 and is non-refundable. The housing process is handled through an online housing system which is separate from the student account in MyKU. After the preference/contract is processed and paid in the housing online system, the charge and payment will post to the MyKU student account for historical purposes. The Housing license provides for a space in the residence halls and not for a particular room or housing fee (See Section XIII. Meal Plans
Any student registered for classes may purchase a meal plan that includes a specific amount of Dining Flex Dollars. Students living in the residence halls (except Golden Bear Village Apartments, Honors Building, and efficiency apartments in Dixon Hall) must have a MyTime Dining Diamond, Platinum or Gold Meal Plan. If you are not required to have a meal plan according to your housing status, you have the option of selecting from the Block Meal Plans, Flex Only Meal Plans or MyTime Diamond, Platinum, Gold OR the Weekly 10 Meal Plan. The example shown is The MyTime Dining Platinum Meal Plan, the default plan. Other meal plans would incur different costs and options vary by the room selected and if the meal plan is required or not. Consult the dining meal plan site for details. Dining Services has previously offered two meal plans in the summer: 12-Premium and 19-Premium.

Application Processing Fee
A $35.00 application processing fee is charged for individuals applying for admission to the institution.
Academic Records Fee
All NEW students (first-time undergraduate, first-time graduate and any other career enrollments such as multiple degrees, certifications, etc.), and any student returning after not being enrolled for a period of four years, are assessed a $50.00 Academic Records Fee.
Acceptance Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of $300.00 must be paid when an applicant chooses to accept an offer of admission.

Late Registration Fee
A $25.00 late registration fee is charged to students who are registered for their first course (or more) on or after the first day of the semester or session.

Consequences of Delinquent Accounts
No student with an account in delinquent status shall be enrolled, graduated, or permitted to receive a transcript of records or diploma until all outstanding fees have been paid in full. Students who received Title IV funding, may be permitted to receive a transcript if they are delinquent but in an Agreement to Pay status. Any student account in delinquent status at the end of a semester may be placed with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General and/or collection agencies for collection and legal action including reporting to credit bureaus.

Off-Campus Courses
Off-Campus Courses - Courses designed as off-campus are Internships or those held at another location for the course duration as designed in the course creation. These courses assess tuition, technology fee, and instructional service. Chincoteague Bay Field Station - Off Campus tuition rates apply to these course enrollments. Our undergraduate Non-PA residents receive a tuition rate of just $354 per credit plus applicable fees. Students participating will pay a deposit with CBFS and accept their agreements online.
