Kyle Anthony Pitts Sr., born on October 6, 2000, is a prominent American football tight end currently playing for the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League (NFL). His journey to the NFL was marked by exceptional performances throughout his college career.

Early Years and High School Career

Pitts's football journey began at Abington Senior High School in Abington, Pennsylvania. He then transferred to Archbishop Wood Catholic High School in Warminster, Pennsylvania, in 2016, where he showcased his skills as a tight end and defensive end.

College Career at Florida

Pitts committed to the University of Florida, where he played college football for the Florida Gators.

2018 Season: Freshman Year

In 2018, Kyle Pitts played in 11 games as a backup during his true freshman season at Florida. Despite his limited role, he recorded three receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown, providing a glimpse of his potential.

2019 Season: Sophomore Year

Pitts took over as the starting tight end in 2019 and played in all 13 games. He recorded 54 receptions for 649 yards and five touchdowns. Kyle Pitts emerged as a key weapon for the Gators.

NFL Career with the Atlanta Falcons

Kyle Pitts was selected fourth overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2021 NFL Draft, making him the highest-drafted tight end in NFL history. The Falcons signed Pitts to a $32.9 million rookie contract.

2021 Season: Rookie Year

In his NFL debut against the Philadelphia Eagles, Pitts had four receptions for 31 yards in a 6-32 loss. In Week 2, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Pitts had five catches for 79 yards in a 25-48 loss. He caught nine passes for 119 yards and his first NFL touchdown in Week 5 against the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, contributing to a 27-20 win. Pitts finished with 163 receiving yards against the Miami Dolphins in Week 7 as the Falcons won 30-28.

Pitts set a franchise record and had a huge game for the Atlanta Falcons. He became the second rookie tight end ever with a 1,000-yard season. Pitts became the first rookie Pro Bowl tight end in almost two decades. He was named to the 2021 NFL All-Rookie Team.

2022 Season

In Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks, Pitts had five receptions for 87 yards in a 27-23 win. Pitts was ruled out with a hamstring injury for Week 5 against the Buccaneers. Pitts returned from injury in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers and had his first touchdown of the season. In Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers, Pitts had 5 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown in the 37-34 overtime win. Pitts suffered a torn MCL against the Chicago Bears in Week 11 and was placed on injured reserve. Pitts had knee surgery and was out for the rest of the season.
