Lake Erie College (LEC) Articulation Agreements

Through the partnership between Lake Erie College and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Dental Medicine, students can earn a bachelor’s degree from LEC in three or four years and a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from LECOM in four years. The program offers a 3+4 or 4+4 track, depending on whether students pursue the accelerated three-year chemistry degree at LEC. Each year, five seats are guaranteed for qualified LEC students in the LECOM Dental Medicine program, located in Bradenton, Florida. Applicants may be admitted upon matriculation to LEC by completing the required form. Admission requires a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher and either an SAT score of 1170+ or ACT score of 26+. To maintain eligibility, students must achieve a minimum overall GPA of 3.4, a 3.2 GPA in science courses, and complete all LECOM prerequisite coursework with a grade of “C” or higher (courses may not be repeated). Students must also take the Dental Admission Test (DAT) by December 1 of the year prior to matriculation.

Lake Erie College’s Physician Assistant (PA) Program reserves up to four seats each year for qualified LEC undergraduate and eligible transfer students through its Early Acceptance Opportunity (EAO). This program allows students to secure a reserved, tentative seat in the PA Program two years before their intended start date, provided they meet all ongoing academic and professional requirements. Applicants must submit a letter of interest between March 1 and May 1 two years prior to matriculation, followed by transcripts, recommendations, a résumé, and proof of shadowing and healthcare experience. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 is required for interview eligibility. Accepted students must maintain a 3.5 GPA, earn at least a “B” in all prerequisite courses (with a minimum “C” in Organic Chemistry), complete 750 hours of healthcare experience and 100 hours of PA shadowing, and participate in at least two PA department events each year. Students must also submit a CASPA application, complete a formal interview, and uphold the highest standards of academic and personal conduct to retain early acceptance.

An MCAT score of 25 (with at least 7 in each section) is required unless waived by completing biochemistry and genetics with a “C” or higher and having ACT/SAT scores on file.

Applicants may apply for provisional admission upon matriculation to LEC by completing the required form. Admission requires a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher and either an SAT score of 1170+ or ACT score of 26+. To maintain eligibility, students must achieve a minimum overall GPA of 3.4, a 3.2 GPA in science courses, and complete all LECOM prerequisite coursework with a grade of “C” or higher (courses may not be repeated). The PCAT is not required, but students must complete both the PharmCAS and LECOM application processes.

Gannon University Articulation Agreement

Lake Erie College (LEC) is proud to offer a new Articulation Agreement with Gannon University, providing qualified students with a streamlined pathway into Gannon’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in Erie, Pennsylvania. Each year, two LEC students who meet all program requirements are guaranteed admission, while additional eligible graduates may receive preferential consideration as space allows. Gannon accepts all required prerequisite courses completed at LEC with a grade of “C” or higher and a minimum GPA of 3.0, and students receive dedicated advising, campus visit opportunities, and admissions support from Gannon faculty. To qualify, students must graduate from LEC with a bachelor’s degree in a School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics major, maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 3.0 GPA in prerequisite courses, complete all required prerequisites (including biology, chemistry, physics, statistics, psychology, human anatomy, human physiology, and exercise physiology), and submit a complete PTCAS application with transcripts and three letters of recommendation.
