For its groundbreaking ideas, this company deserves a 90/100 rating.

What is Learning with Kelsey?

Learning with Kelsey doesn’t offer the typical children’s toys you’d find in the market or on e-commerce sites. Instead, it provides learning resources and toys that integrate playing and learning through educational activity boxes. Each box contains hands-on activities and tools that spark curiosity and imagination. Its products are ideal for curious preschool kids or kids preparing for school. On top of that, it provides a collection of printable educational activities for children. In this way, parents no longer need to worry about finding a reliable place to purchase educational toys for children.

Products Offered

Essentially, Learning With Kelsey’s products center heavily on children’s learning. To note, each of those products is specifically designed for each age group of children. You can purchase the products according to the children’s age, ranging from 2 to 7 years old. Each of them has its own content for children of different ages. The Learning with Kelsey boxes are curated specially for specific age ranges. There are three main box options based on age.

Kinder Prep Box (Ages 4-5)

Sometimes, children need to know what school is really like so that they are better prepared for it. Accordingly, this box implements a complete school-prep experience. Moreover, it includes worksheets, teaching tips, hands-on crafts, initial reading, and math games. This box is within your reach at $58.

Sensory Box

It’s widely known that training children’s motor skills is fundamental to their development process. Obviously, this box includes sensory fillers and mini toys as well as tools. Each month might be full of pumpkins and spiders; the next might explore winter animals or shapes. This sensory box is up for grabs at $48. Beyond the core subscription boxes, Learning with Kelsey also offers a delightful selection of sensory boxes. These aren't just any sensory boxes; they're carefully designed to captivate your child's senses. These serve as a fantastic independent activity that keeps the kids engaged while stimulating their creativity.

What's Inside the Box?

Families will find lessons, art projects, a calendar to help guide their activities throughout the month, and more inside the box. One month might be full of pumpkins and spiders; the next might explore winter animals or shapes. These boxes are also unique, as the activities and lessons are themed according to the month and season! Each box includes all the materials (and instructions) for several activities designed to engage your little learner. Ellen Slater was an Assistant Editor at The Toy Insider, The Pop Insider, and The Toy Book. These boxes are packed with up to 10 crafts per month that are perfectly themed to the holiday or season. Also, this company provides downloadable homeschool curriculum units for those who need them.

Cost and Subscription Options

The boxes start at $22.99 - caregivers can choose a one-time purchase or commit to a multi-month subscription. You pick your box - Toddler, Preschool, Kinder Prep, Craftivity, or Sensory - and subscribe for the month. Learning with Kelsey offers monthly subscription boxes for kids and families. The boxes are filled with fun and educational activities.

Themed Monthly Boxes

The themed monthly boxes are another win. My kids get so excited when a new box arrives, and the themes keep things fresh and interesting. One month we're learning about the ocean, the next month it's all about space. It gives the activities a cohesive feel rather than just random tasks thrown together. Activities are also themed by month.

Learning with Kelsey: Pros and Cons

Nowadays, there’s no such thing as flawless products or brands. This company provides educational activity boxes and printable learning resources for children. In addition, its learning activities are suitable for independent learners.

Pros

  • Created by a Preschool Teacher: The biggest thing I love about Learning with Kelsey is that it was created by an actual preschool teacher. You can tell Kelsie really understands what activities work for little kids because everything is age appropriate and developmentally sound.

  • Age-Appropriate Learning: My kids aren't frustrated because something is too hard, and they're not bored because it's too easy.

  • Short and Engaging Activities: I also appreciate that the activities only take about 20 minutes per day. That's the sweet spot for my toddlers' attention spans, and it means I can actually commit to doing them consistently. It's not this huge time investment that feels overwhelming on busy days.

  • Themed Monthly Boxes: The themed monthly boxes are another win. My kids get so excited when a new box arrives, and the themes keep things fresh and interesting. One month we're learning about the ocean, the next month it's all about space. It gives the activities a cohesive feel rather than just random tasks thrown together.

  • Sensory Boxes: And if you have a kid who loves sensory play, the sensory boxes are fantastic. They're messy (I'll be honest), but my kids absolutely love them and they're great for tactile learning.

  • Ideal for Busy Parents: Learning with Kelsey is the ideal product for someone that wants to be a hands on product, but doesn't want to spend the time fully setting everything up. I love that she is a former preschool teacher that plans on your behalf.

  • Portioned Materials: I love that the materials are pre portioned out so you do not have tons of leftovers to store, and most importantly, it's activities that my kids love to do.

Cons

  • Price: The price is probably the biggest con. At around $30 per month, it's definitely an investment. For some families, that might be a lot for what amounts to about 20 activities. I think it's worth it because of the time it saves me planning and gathering materials, but I get that it's not in everyone's budget.
  • Not Every Activity is a Hit: Another thing is that not every single activity is going to be a home run. My kids have loved probably 80% of what we've done, but there have been a few activities they just weren't that into. That's pretty normal for any subscription box, though.
  • Subscription Commitment: The subscription commitment can also feel like pressure. Some months we've been traveling or just really busy, and I've felt guilty that we're not using the box as much as we should. You can pause your subscription, which helps, but it's something to consider if you have an unpredictable schedule.
  • Messy Activities: Finally, some of the activities can get messy. If you're someone who really doesn't like mess or doesn't have space for it, that might be frustrating.
  • Outer Box Damage: The outer box may be quite prone to damage or defect.

Customer Reviews and Testimonials

What else is as important as product reviews? Indeed, it’s customer testimonials. For the record, it’s the company’s overall rating, not product ratings. Nevertheless, numerical ratings do not contain details of customers’ experiences. We just finished covering the customer reviews. The positive reviews overshadow the negative reviews. Briefly, Learning with Kelsey’s positive reviews outranked the negative ones.

Positive Reviews

This customer said that the box kept their children busy while they took care of their baby. This box gives my child something to do when I’m busy taking care of the baby. Additionally, customers who tried it generally reviewed that its products are good and beneficial for toddlers. Pleasingly, the review is positive, too.

Negative Reviews

This customer stated that they loved the content, but the outer box was significantly damaged. However, we understand that negative reviews also need to make the rounds to give a fair perspective. FYI, the lowest rating we could find about this company is a 3/5 rating from a few customers.

Shipping and Returns

Additionally, the shipping time normally takes 5-7 days. As noted previously, Learning with Kelsey doesn’t offer returns or refunds. However, any unexpected situation can occur. Want to discuss your concern with their team?

Additional Opportunities

We are happy to announce that Learning with Kelsey has a range of exciting offers available on its page. Furthermore, Learning with Kelsey also welcomes everyone to join their affiliate program. We do not recommend buying the box from a non-official store.
