Lexie Hull: From Spokane Valley to Professional Basketball
Lexie Lauren Hull, born on September 13, 1999, is an accomplished American professional basketball player. Her career spans the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), where she plays for the Indiana Fever, and Unrivaled, where she represents Rose BC. Hull's journey to professional basketball is marked by exceptional achievements in high school and college, setting the stage for her promising career in the WNBA and beyond.
Early Life and High School Career
Hull was born and raised in Liberty Lake, Washington, a suburb of Spokane. Growing up, she honed her basketball skills alongside her identical twin sister, Lacie. From third to eighth grade, their father, Jason, and his friend, Ron Hawkins, coached them in the Lady Cubs Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) program.
From 2014 to 2018, Hull competed for Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley, Washington, leaving an indelible mark on the school's basketball program. As a freshman, she averaged 13.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, showcasing her potential early on. In her sophomore season, Hull's performance surged as she averaged 18.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, leading her team to the Class 4A state title, where she was named tournament MVP. As a junior at Central Valley, Hull averaged 16.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game, guiding her team to a fourth-place finish at the state tournament. She was honored as Washington Gatorade Player of the Year, AP Class 4A Player of the Year and Greater Spokane League MVP.
As a senior, Hull averaged 20.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 2.1 assists per game. She led Central Valley to a 29-0 record and the Class 4A state title, earning tournament MVP. Hull also led her team to the GEICO Nationals championship, posting 26 points and 10 rebounds to upset Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in the title game. She was named Washington Gatorade Player of the Year, AP Washington All-Classification Player of the Year, The News Tribune Player of the Year, The Seattle Times Co-Player of the Year with Lacie and Greater Spokane League MVP.
During high school, Hull played for the Spokane Stars on the AAU circuit. In addition to basketball, she competed in track for four years, making the all-conference team, and volleyball for one year at the varsity level for Central Valley.

College Career at Stanford
On October 23, 2016, Lexie committed to play college basketball for Stanford along with her sister, Lacie, choosing the Cardinal over offers from Gonzaga, Washington, Washington State, Oregon and Arizona State. On November 7, 2018, Hull made her debut for Stanford, recording 11 points, 11 rebounds and four steals in a 71-43 win against UC Davis. She became the first freshman in program history to register a double-double in their debut. In her next game, on November 11, Hull scored a season-high 17 points in a 115-71 win over Idaho. As a freshman, Hull averaged 5.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, and helped Stanford win the Pac-12 Tournament. She made the Pac-12 All-Freshman honorable mention, despite missing nine games with a left foot injury.
She became a full-time starter in her sophomore season. On January 24, 2020, Hull scored a season-high 29 points in a 76-68 overtime win over Colorado. She helped her team return to the Pac-12 Tournament final after recording 28 points and nine rebounds in a 67-51 semifinal victory over UCLA. Hull scored a junior season-high 24 points in a 75-55 win over UCLA at the 2021 Pac-12 Tournament title game. She was named to the all-tournament team. At the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament, Hull posted 21 points and nine rebounds in a 78-63 victory against Louisville. She had 18 points and 13 rebounds in a 66-65 win over South Carolina at the Final Four. In the title game, Hull recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds in a 54-53 win against Arizona, helping Stanford win its first national championship since 1992. She was selected to the Final Four all-tournament team. As a junior, Hull averaged 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, and repeated on the All-Pac-12 Team. On January 7, 2022, she scored 33 points and made seven three-pointers in an 80-68 victory over Oregon. She won her third Pac-12 Tournament. In the second round of the 2022 NCAA tournament, Hull scored a career-high 36 points with six three-pointers in a 91-65 win against Kansas. She helped Stanford return to the Final Four. As a senior, Hull averaged 12.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game, earning her third consecutive All-Pac-12 selection.
Professional Career
WNBA: Indiana Fever
Lexie Hull's professional basketball career began when the Indiana Fever selected her as the sixth overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft. A significant achievement that underscored her potential and the high expectations surrounding her entry into the league. As a two-year WNBA veteran, she has played in 56 career games, starting in 29 of them, while averaging 4.3 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest. In the 2023 campaign, she earned the starting assignment in 25 of 30 games, posting a 4.6 scoring average while grabbing 2.7 rebounds per outing. Hull tallied a career-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range, against Washington. She also collected 15 points against Las Vegas. During her rookie campaign, Hull appeared in 26 games with four starts, averaging 3.9 points and 1.5 rebounds per contest. She closed the season with double-digit scoring efforts in three of final four outings, including season-high 17 points against Dallas.
Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball
Hull appeared in Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball in 2023, finished 8th on the leaderboard, and was named Defensive Player of the Year. She was an All-Defensive Team selection who started all 15 games during her inaugural campaign in the league. She finished eighth on the final leaderboard with 5,411 points. Hull ranked fifth in the league with 3,200 win points and accrued 2,001 stat points to finish ninth in league standings. She compiled 210 MVP points on the strength of three Game MVP awards. She posted three games with 500 or more leaderboard points, including a season-best 691 points against Team Cole on February 24. She also tallied 609 leaderboard points in the Week Two opener against Team Hillmon before closing the season with 529 points against Team Sims. She averaged 12.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. She tied for first in the league with 26 steals. She collected 12 blocked shots in 15 games, good for a share of fifth place in league rankings and tied for fifth in the circuit with 35 offensive rebounds and 97 total caroms. Hull shot 41.7 percent from the field and 90.5 percent at the foul line. She scored a season-high 26 points in the February 24 matchup against Team Cole, converting 9-of-15 shots from the field. She also matched the Athletes Unlimited single-game record with six three-pointers en route to securing MVP 1 distinction. Hull started Week Two with a 21-point performance against Team Hillmon by sinking 7-of-11 field goal attempts along with a perfect 6-for-6 effort at the charity stripe. She notched her first Athletes Unlimited double-double in Week Four against Team Sims with 13 points and season-high 10 rebounds. She finished the season with a 17-point effort in win over Team Sims.

Unrivaled
On October 30, 2024, it was announced that Hull would appear and play in the inaugural 2025 season of Unrivaled, the women's 3-on-3 basketball league founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. She was selected for Rose BC.
International Experience
Hull's international experience includes being a member of the Bronze medal-winning Team USA at 2022 FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup. She averaged 4.2 points per game while shooting 34.1 percent from the field (15-for-44). She also converted 4-of-6 free throws in the tournament. She led the United States to a Silver medal at 2022 FIBA 3x3 U-23 Women’s World Cup. She also represented Stanford at the 2019 USA Basketball Women’s 3x3 National Championship in Las Vegas. Hull advanced to the quarterfinals while playing alongside Lacie Hull, Estella Moschkau and Anna Wilson. She was a member of the 2023 USA Basketball 3x3 Pan American Team that won the Gold medal.
Academic Achievements and Personal Life
Hull is the daughter of Jaime and Jason Hull. She has an identical twin sister, Lacie, who was her basketball teammate in high school and college. Hull's father, Jason, played college basketball for Whitworth University, where he received NCAA Division III All-America honors.
Hull had a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) in high school. She graduated from Stanford with both a bachelor's degree and master's degree in management science and engineering. In her junior and senior years, Hull was named a first-team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). She is a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District first team and Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection.
In June 2024, Hull announced her partnership with Sweetgreen on her social media platforms. In the fall of 2024, Hull also partnered with Lightbox Jewelry and was named a brand ambassador (alongside NBA player, Paul George) for FORM, a basketball training company focusing on shooting technique.

Lexie Hull has two dogs. She would be working in finance or real estate if not playing basketball. She lists Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer as a person who has been influential in her life. She enjoys cooking, reading, playing Wordle, going on walks, playing cards and spending time at the beach or on a boat. She participated in volleyball, track and field, soccer and leadership as a child.
