This benefit allows students to utilize essential tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote documents across various platforms, including Windows, Macintosh, iOS, and Android devices.
Key Features and Accessibility
- Accessibility: Microsoft 365 can be accessed from a mobile device, desktop client, or web browser, ensuring flexibility and convenience for students.
- Storage: Students receive 1 TB of password-protected online storage, facilitating the safekeeping and sharing of documents, presentations, and other files. This includes private, shared, and public folders.
- Web Applications: Microsoft 365 Web applications can be used from any supported browser, providing access to essential tools on any Internet-connected computer.
- Full Application Suite: While web applications offer convenience, the full application suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Access, is installed locally on your computer for enhanced functionality.
- Automatic Removal: Access to Microsoft 365 is provided to active Montgomery College students. Students who are not enrolled for 12 months will lose access to Microsoft 365. All files are automatically removed 90 days later.

- If you accidentally delete files, you’ve accidentally deleted them.

- Name Changes: Students should not try to use a different name.

Grade Reporting
Instructors are expected to post midterm and final grades using Banner, Montgomery College’s administrative software application.
Accessing Grade Rosters
- Access Banner Admin available through MyMC, but requires “on campus” access.
- Click on CRN Selection.
- Select the desired.
- Click on Final Grades.
- After the roster loads, scroll down.
- One of the two messages may appear if an LDA was entered; ignore them.
- Then repeat the process starting at #6 above.

- Purpose: The VPN (F5) client is configured to connect to one server automatically, enabling work from on site to work at home easier.
- Usage: VPN is only needed to connect to College resources that only exist on campus.
Zoom for Online Meetings
- Access: Students can access MC’s Zoom account through the Zoom app. Go to your app store and download the Zoom app. Enter montgomerycollege in the space next to .zoom.us.
- Personal Accounts: Students need to sign out of your personal account before you log into MC’s Zoom account.
- Meeting Settings: Before scheduling your meeting, go the Meeting Settings. option on the Meeting tab and verify that the setting is enabled. If disabled, click the Status toggle to enable it. Choose Turn On to verify the change. If the option is blue then it is turned on.
- File Sharing: When the meeting starts, go to the Chat and select More. Click Share File in Meeting. Windows Explorer window opens.
- Cache Clearing: If you are logged into your personal Zoom account, you may want to clear your cache.
- In Chrome: In the upper-right corner of the Chrome window, click the Menu button, choose More Tools, and click Clear browsing data…. Keep the checked defaults to clear Browsing history and Clear Cached images and files. Then, click Clear Data.
- In Safari: Click on the Safari drop-down menu and select Preferences. Click the Advanced tab. Select the Show Develop menu in menu bar checkbox and close the Preferences window. Select the Develop drop-down menu. Click Empty Cache.
- Incognito Browser: To open an incognito browser in Chrome:- Click on the menu on the upper right (the three vertical dots). Select New Incognito Window from the list.
