Mount Dora Christian Academy: Educating, Equipping, and Empowering

Mount Dora Christian Academy (MDCA), formerly known as Christian Home & Bible School, stands as a co-educational PreK-12 private Christian school located in Mount Dora, Florida, United States. Situated at 301 West 13th Avenue, Mount Dora, Lake, Florida 32757, the academy has a rich history and a strong commitment to providing a Christ-centered education.

A Legacy of Faith and Learning

Established in 1945 by W.O. Norton, Mount Dora Christian Academy began as Christian Home & Bible School. Norton convened a meeting at the Mount Dora Church Of Christ in July 1944 to decide on the location for his envisioned Christian school in Central Florida. The school opened its doors on September 10, 1945, welcoming 55 students. The institution has been known as the Bulldogs for many years. To better identify and market the Academy in the local community, Christian Home & Bible School unveiled a new name in February of 2015: Mount Dora Christian Academy.

Accreditation and Affiliations

Mount Dora Christian Academy holds accreditation from reputable organizations, including the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS), Cognia (formerly known as AdvancedED), and the National Christian School Association (NCSA). MDCA is also a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) & the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). These accreditations and affiliations demonstrate the academy's commitment to maintaining high standards in education and extracurricular activities.
