Oregon State's Road to the College World Series

In 2018, Oregon State’s baseball players dogpiled on the diamond at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, having just defeated Arkansas to win the program’s third NCAA championship in a 12-year stretch. For the first time since that fateful night, the Beavers are headed back to the College World Series. With a frenetic 14-10 victory against No. 9 Florida State on June 8, No. 8 Oregon State clinched the Corvallis Super Regional and punched a ticket to the CWS for the seventh time since 2005.

One year after the longtime iteration of the Pac-12 crumbled, and a year before a reconfigured Pac-12 officially takes shape, the Beavers have played an independent schedule that set up intriguing matchups but lacked some of the familiarity and comfort they had developed over decades in their old league. Whatever challenges that may have presented haven’t hurt the team, which enters the CWS with a 47-14-1 record and wins in 15 of its past 19 games.
