Nissin Foods Good Neighbor Scholarship: Empowering Future Community Leaders
The Nissin Foods USA Good Neighbor Scholarship supports high school seniors who excel academically, demonstrate leadership, and actively contribute to their communities. This scholarship helps students pursue higher education while encouraging them to continue making a positive impact in their local areas and future careers. It's a fantastic opportunity for civic-minded high school seniors to receive financial support as they take the next step in their education. If you are committed to community service and academic excellence, don’t miss your chance to apply.
A Legacy of Community Support
Nissin Foods was established in 1958 by Momofuku Ando, who invented the world’s first instant ramen noodle in Japan inspired by his belief that ”peace will come to the world when there is enough food.” In 1972, Nissin Foods USA opened its first plant in Gardena, California, introducing ramen noodles to American consumers. In 1973, it revolutionized the industry by creating a product that could package, prepare, and serve noodles all in one. For 65 years, Nissin Foods has created delicious and convenient Asian-inspired meals at an affordable value.
While there might not be a Ramen Noodle Scholarship, there is something equally remarkable! Nissin Foods, the creators of Cup Noodles, Top Ramen, and more, have reintroduced their Good Neighbor Scholarship Program to students passionate about community service. This scholarship is not just about financial support; it's about inspiring and empowering the next generation of community leaders.
Scholarship Overview
Each year, the program awards $5,000 to four high school seniors who hold a minimum 3.0 GPA and are passionate about helping others. This year, Nissin Foods will award four scholarships of $5,000 each to high school seniors who embody Nissin’s spirit of being a good neighbor-through service, kindness, and a commitment to bettering the world around them.
One scholarship will be awarded to a student living near each of Nissin Foods’ three US facilities in Los Angeles County, California, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and Greenville County, South Carolina. The fourth scholarship will be awarded to the child or dependent of a Nissin Foods employee.
