Navigating Your Pace University Student Account: A Comprehensive Guide
Pace University provides students with access to a range of online resources and services through their student accounts. Understanding how to manage and utilize these accounts is essential for a successful academic experience. This guide provides a comprehensive overview of Pace University student accounts, covering everything from initial setup to payment procedures and security measures.
Understanding Student Billing and Payments
Pace University operates on a semester-based billing system. Students are responsible for ensuring that all assessed charges are paid by the due dates specified by the university. Accessing account information and making payments can be done securely through the Payment Portal.
Payment Portal
The Payment Portal is the central hub for managing your Pace University financial obligations. Through this portal, students can:
- View their account statements
- Make online payments
- Set up payment plans (if available)
- Access billing history
Outside Scholarships
Students may receive scholarships from sources outside of Pace University. These "outside scholarships" require separate handling and notification to the university. It's important to inform the Financial Aid Office about any outside scholarships received to ensure proper crediting to your student account.
Health Insurance Requirements
All full-time undergraduate and graduate students, both domestic and international, are required to have health insurance. Upon registration, students are automatically enrolled in the school's accident/sickness plan.

Waiving the School's Insurance
Students who already have comparable health insurance coverage may waive the school's insurance plan. To do so, students must provide proof of comparable coverage that meets the university's requirements. The waiver process typically involves submitting documentation of your existing insurance policy through a designated portal or office.
Pace Portal Account Management
Your Pace Portal account is automatically generated upon acceptance to Pace University. This account provides access to a wide range of essential resources and services.
Locating Your Username
A student's username can be found in the Pace Directory. This is a crucial first step in accessing your Pace University online systems.
- Go to the Pace Directory.
- Type in your first and last name.
- Select "Only Students" from the Person Type menu on the left side.
- Click "Search."
- Click on your name to view your username.
Activating Your Account and Creating a Password
Before using any of the Pace University online systems, you must first activate your account. This is a one-time process.
- Go to adam.pace.edu.
- Under "Can't Log In?", click "Account Activation".
- Enter your username.
The initial password format for new student accounts is as follows:

- Your initials from your first and last name (lower-case)
- A hyphen (-)
- Your date of birth in MM-DD-YYYY format (with hyphens between month, day, and year)
For example, if your name is John Smith and you were born on January 3, 1990, your default password would be js-01-03-1990.
If the system does not accept your initial password, it may be due to a missing or recently added date of birth in the system. In this case, try replacing the birth date portion of the initial password with your 9-character University ID.
Once you log in with your initial password, you will be prompted to create a new, secure password. Your new password should:
- Be at least 12 characters long
- Include numbers
- Include uppercase and lowercase letters
- Include symbols
After creating your password, you will be required to set up two security questions for account recovery purposes.
Password Recovery
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by going to the adam.pace.edu page. Follow the prompts to verify your identity and create a new password.

Online students are not required to upload a security photo.
