Pepin Academies: A Tuition-Free Therapeutic Educational Model for Students with Learning Disabilities
Introduction
Pepin Academies are tuition-free public charter schools in Florida dedicated to transforming the lives of students with learning disabilities. Offering a therapeutic, inclusive school environment, Pepin Academies integrate academics and essential therapies in real-time, ensuring every child can thrive. With multiple campus locations, including Tampa, Riverview, and New Port Richey, Pepin Academies serve students in grades 3-12, with an additional Transition Program for young adults ages 18-22.
Mission and Philosophy
Pepin Academies' mission is to prepare students with learning and learning-related disabilities for the academic, social, and emotional challenges of everyday life. The goal is to help them transition successfully into high school, post-secondary education, or industry-recognized certifications and employment pathways.
Dr. [Name], a key figure at Pepin Academies, rejects the notion of thinking "outside the box" for students with disabilities, advocating instead for making the box bigger to create a truly inclusive society. This philosophy underscores the therapeutic educational model that fully integrates academic instruction with the supports students with learning disabilities need to succeed.
Therapeutic Educational Model
Pepin Academies stand out for their therapeutic educational model that fully integrates academic instruction with the supports students with learning disabilities need to succeed. Therapists work directly alongside teachers, providing real-time support in classrooms as well as targeted small-group and individual sessions, creating a seamless environment where belonging drives learning.
Families choose Pepin because small class sizes, ESE-certified teachers, and onsite specialists-mental health counselors, social workers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, ESE specialists, and registered nurses-ensure their children receive individualized attention throughout the entire school day.
