Sierra College offers more than 150 degree and certificate programs, grouped into 10 interest areas to help students create a structured path to reach their educational and career goals. These interest areas make it easier for students to meet and study with others who share similar passions. Let's explore some of these areas:

Navigating the Registration Process

Whether you’re new to Sierra College or have taken classes here before, you can find helpful tutorials on registering for classes. Start by making sure you have access to mySierra. Follow the steps to register for classes or review the visual instructions and videos. If there is a hold on your account, you will need to follow the directions to resolve it before you can register. Use the “Find Classes” tab to find the classes you would like to take by Subject, Course Number or Keyword. You can search courses by term, campus, subject, instructor, instructional method, days of the week and much more.

Sierra College recently streamlined the registration process. Use the Search Options to find the class of your choice. Click on any course title for a Syllabus, Instructor Info, Requirement and Student Reviews. Select the date you would like to begin and click 'Continue Enrollment'. When you arrive at the Payment Options page you will 'Purchase Now' using Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.

Paying for College

Community Education

Community Education at Sierra College offers a variety of exciting classes and activities designed to meet the personal enrichment and professional development interests of our diverse community. These courses are short-term, not-for-credit, fee-based classes, workshops and training programs providing opportunities to expand your horizons, develop your talents or learn a new skill. Classes are offered in areas of career, computers, creative arts, food and wine, health, home and garden and many others. Special activities such as motorcycle training, trips and children’s sports camps are also offered. New classes begin nearly every week and are scheduled at times convenient for adults, including evenings and weekends. Additionally, more than 300 online courses are available in a wide variety of subjects.

  • Speed Spanish: With the Speed Spanish course, you will immediately start creating sentences and conversations in Spanish.

  • Mastering Online Learning: Master online learning with strategies to stay motivated, manage time, and overcome common challenges.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)

OLLI at Sierra College is a learning community with 1,000+ members. It offers a wide variety of classes in art, film, government, health, history, literature, music, and science. All courses are designed to keep minds and bodies active. To fit your busy lifestyle, OLLI classes meet for just one class meeting or once a week for two, four, or six-weeks. OLLI offers a unique way to explore new topics in the classroom, outdoors, and online. OLLI offers classes specially designed for adults ages 50 or better.

Additional Opportunities

Sierra College offers tuition-free courses and certificates that can help you develop foundational skills and provide a smooth transition to credit programs and employment. You can also find out how you may be able to count your background experience, knowledge and skills towards a degree or certificate.

Sierra College supports the success of all its students. The Outreach Team can help you navigate the process from application to class registration. Sierra College students transfer to a wide variety of four-year institutions including California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC).
