Undergraduate (UG) Courses

SRMIST offers numerous UG programs designed to nurture professional skills among students. The basic eligibility criteria for SRM University UG courses are the same i. e. Passing class 10+2/ HSC/ Pre-University exams with at least 50% marks in relevant streams.

B.Tech: Admission is based on the SRMJEEE entrance exam. Students must have cleared 10+2 with at least 50% marks in PCM subjects. Direct admission is granted for first-rank holders of all state and central boards, and there is a provision for admission through JEE Main for candidates among the top 1000 students in the IIT JEE exam.
MBBS & BDS: Candidates must pass their HSC/ Pre-University exams with 50% marks in PCMB from a recognized board and take the NEET UG exam. Admissions are regulated by the NEET UG counseling agency.
BBA: Candidates shall secure 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying class 10+2/ HSC exams. Admission is merit-based.
BCA: Students must qualify in 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board and have studied Maths as the main subject.

B.Sc.: Admission is based on the merit of qualifying exams. Students who have qualified in the 10+2 science stream are eligible to apply.
B.Com: Admission is based on a merit-based screening process and language proficiency tests.
LLB: Students must hold graduation in any stream. Candidates who have taken law entrance exams like CLAT/ LSAT will be given preference. Passing class 10+2/HSC with at least 60% aggregate marks is compulsory to qualify for SRM Integrated Law degrees.

Postgraduate (PG) Courses

M.Tech: Candidates must possess a B.Tech degree in relevant streams from reputed institutes and appear for the SRMJEE PG Entrance Examination. The full-time M.Tech programs are 2 years long.
MD: Open to all candidates who have passed their MBBS from MCI-recognized institutes. Eligible candidates who have taken the NEET PG exam will be invited to the NEET PG counseling sessions. SRM’s medical school offers full-time MD for 3 years.
MBA: Candidates must have attained at least 50% aggregate marks in qualifying Bachelor’s degree exams. Entrance exams to be taken by the students are CAT/ TANCET/ XAT/ MAT/ GMAT/ NMAT/ CMAT. Eligible students with valid scores will be invited for group discussions and personal interviews. Those with 2-3 years of professional working experience at the time of application will be given preference.
Other PG Programs: The university facilitates admission in PG programs like M.Des, M Arch, MDS, MA, MCA, M. Com, and M.Sc. Candidates are expected to possess a relevant Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

Admission Process

Students who wish to be admitted must take the SRM University Entrance Exams. The institution conducts separate entrance tests for different courses. The SRM University Admission Date is usually scheduled in September every year.

Entrance Exams

SRMJEEE: Conducted for admission to engineering programs. It is a popular entrance exam conducted three times a year. The application fee for SRMJEE is INR 1200 for the first phase, with additional fees for Phases 2 and 3.
NEET UG: Required for MBBS and BDS admissions.
SRMJEE PG: Required for M.Tech admissions.
CAT/ TANCET/ XAT/ MAT/ GMAT/ NMAT/ CMAT: Accepted for MBA admissions.

Hostel Facilities

SRMIST provides separate hostel facilities for men and women on the campus, designed to suit students of all budgets. The hostels have clean, comfortable rooms, water, electricity, internet access, reading rooms, a gym, a sports facility, a mess, and a cafeteria with quality and hygienic food. The rooms are provided on a sharing basis, with both A/C and non-A/C options available.

Women's Hostel: Seven blocks with a capacity ranging from 250 to 700 in each block, totaling around 4000 students.
Men's Hostel: Fourteen blocks with a capacity ranging from 200 to 1000 students in each block.

The SRM University fee of hostel ranges from INR 29.05k - 1.54 lakh, depending on AC/Non AC rooms, with or without washrooms, and based on six sharing or eight sharing rooms.

Placement Opportunities

SRMIST has a strong placement department that facilitates on-campus job opportunities for graduates. The placement process is rigorous, with students required to have a CGPA higher than 8.5 to be considered for good positions. Numerous core companies visit the campus to interview students, resulting in ample placement opportunities, especially for CSE students.
