Stevenson University Scholarships: A Comprehensive Guide

Stevenson University recognizes outstanding students through a competitive merit-based scholarship program. These scholarships, ranging from $11,000 to $21,000 annually, are automatically considered when applicants meet the stated deadlines. The Admissions Office evaluates and offers these scholarships without requiring a separate application. Stevenson University merit-based scholarships are available to students enrolled in traditional undergraduate programs and are not transferable to accelerated or graduate programs.

Merit-Based Scholarships

Stevenson University has developed a generous merit-based scholarship program for incoming students that considers all applicants, regardless of financial need. When awarding scholarships, the university considers the rigor of a student’s high school curriculum in addition to their academic GPA, class rank, and standardized test scores. Transfer students who have demonstrated significant academic achievement may be awarded the Stevenson University Transfer Scholarship. This merit-based award may reach $21,300 annually for a maximum of four consecutive years. GPA and credits considered: Earned by February 1 for fall start and October 1 for spring start. Scholarships are based on full-time, continuous enrollment.

Specialty Scholarship Programs

The Admissions Office offers additional specialty scholarship programs for freshman and transfer applicants. These grants are available to qualified full-time students enrolled in traditional undergraduate academic programs. To apply for these scholarships, complete a Specialty Scholarship Interview by February 1 and apply to Stevenson by the January 15 Specialty Scholarship deadline. Complete a campus visit by March 1.

Endowed and Annual Scholarships

Stevenson University offers scholarships from its endowment program, with award amounts starting at $1,000. New students will be reviewed and considered for awards based upon meeting endowed-specified criteria. Returning students may apply for several endowed scholarships by completing a single application for those scholarships. The application deadline is May 1.

Endowed and Annual Scholarships are made possible through the generosity of donors who are committed to creating lasting opportunities for Stevenson students. If you are eligible for an endowed or annual scholarship, donor funds may be applied as part of your financial aid package in one of two ways. In most cases, these funds help support existing institutional scholarships or grants. In other situations, the award may be provided as additional funding, which may increase your overall financial aid. When additional funding is awarded, a student’s total financial aid may be adjusted as needed to remain within the University’s Total Cost of Attendance (the estimated cost of tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, and other education-related expenses for the academic year).

Dr. Wolfgang’s publications include a regional history book by Arcadia Publishing entitled Hidden History of Kinsley, and he has peer-reviewed work published in Shakespeare Bulletin with essays in Bloomsbury Arden’s Lockdown Shakespeare and Palgrave’s Inclusive Shakespeares and Criminal Shakespeares. Tuition Exchange (TE) and Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) Scholarships

Stevenson University is a member school of both the Tuition Exchange and The Council of Independent Colleges. The deadline to apply for TE or CIC is January 15th for students starting the following Fall and recipient selection is typically announced the March following the application deadline. Beginning with incoming Fall 2026 Freshman, the monetary award for recipients is $33,000 per academic year. Stevenson University awards up to three recipients of TE and up to three recipients of CIC each year. Selection of recipients is based on a student’s academic profile, taking into consideration a student’s high school curriculum in addition to their academic GPA.

TE is a reciprocal scholarship opportunity for employees and dependents of eligible faculty and staff at member schools. The program is the oldest and largest program of its kind and the awards enable the dependents of faculty and staff at the institutions to significantly defray their higher education costs.

The CIC is an organization that serves more than 700 independent colleges and universities providing a variety of resources including a tuition exchange program that includes more than 400 colleges and universities. Those institutions agree to import a limited number of students on the same admission basis as they accept all other students, without regard to the number of students it exports.

Additional Scholarship Opportunities

Several other scholarships and grants are offered by private sources, such as fraternal and religious organizations, labor unions, professional associations, social groups, and ethnic associations. Because they are private and therefore not administered by Stevenson, you will need to research and apply for them on your own. The best place to start your research is your local church or synagogue or a local club such as the Lions or Kiwanis.
