Project 10Million is an initiative aimed at delivering internet connectivity to millions of underserved student households at no cost. And we’re offering schools a low-cost unlimited option, too. School districts can apply on behalf of their students to participate. Based on the proportion of students eligible for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Project 10Million offers discounted data options, including unlimited data together with free lines receiving 20GBs/month of free data. Plus all plans, including free line, include a free mobile hotspot. Program enhancement for select schools may be available. It’s easy! In education and the ever more connected world, students’ lack of access to reliable connectivity creates a divide between students who have reliable internet access at their fingertips and those who do not. This gap is the difficulty those without reliable connectivity face in completing assignments and communicating with teachers and peers after the school day is done. Today, nearly 1 in 4 American households do not have reliable home internet. Of this population, students are among those hit hardest, with recent data estimating upwards of 12 million students are without home Internet. In rural America where internet options can be limited, the gap grows wider. Access to the Internet equals access to opportunity. In education, studies show that students without reliable access to the Internet outside of school hours consistently receive lower reading, math, and science scores.

With Project 10Million, we’re offering free hotspots with 200GBs of mobile data each year for five years to 10 million eligible K-12 students. Starting September 26, 2024, current and newly qualifying kindergarten through 12th grade Project 10Million student families who signed up with T-Mobile will get double the data each year (200GB) and a new low-cost 10GB data pass option if they hit their data limit, so they can quickly regain access for just $10. Project 10Million offers free 200GB/year of data and free mobile hotspots to eligible K-12 students. Eligible students can get FREE 200GB of high-speed data and FREE mobile hotspots. The hotspot comes with a quick start guide that walks you through the setup process. Once the hotspot is turned on and connects, the line is activated on the T-Mobile network. That’s it! Your child is ready to get online, do schoolwork and connect with teachers and peers. If there are any hiccups with setup, try turning the hotspot off and back on. You can expect your free hotspot to arrive in approximately 3-5 business days.

Partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters

Helping ensure internet access is not a barrier to a child’s education. In 2020, T-Mobile launched Project 10Million as their 5 year commitment to close the homework gap. As they continue their effort to close the digital divide, they have partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters to provide eligible students (up to grade 12) with free internet through free mobile hotspots with 100GB of internet per year for 5 years.

Eligible BBBS Youth (kids K - 12) will be provided a verification form from BBBS to allow their parent to enroll them in this free program. Parents must complete the final submission to T-Mobile for the device. There is NO CHARGE to the family. There is NO OBLIGATION from the family when they receive the device.
