Leave of Absence Policy

Students who need to take a break from their studies must complete a Leave of Absence Request form and submit it to their department advisor. The form can be accessed through TUportal:

Log into your TUportal account.
Click the Student Tools tab.
Navigate to University Forms.
Type “graduate leave” in the Search field.
Select the Graduate School’s “Leave of Absence Request” form.

Students who do not return after their approved leave or who do not apply for a leave of absence and are not enrolled for two consecutive terms must apply for readmission to their school or college.
