Mrs. Christmas’s 5th-grade class at Jefferson explored food science by testing sugar, citric acid, cumin, and pepper. Students observed which ingredients dissolved in water and which left sediment, learning why some mixtures stay smooth while others separate. Kindergarten students at Copeland Elementary School are having a blast exploring watercolor painting through a wax resist process while creating abstract artwork inspired by Wassily Kandinsky.
