Exploring the UCLA Extension Interior Design Program

Through a collaboration with Cal Poly Pomona’s Department of Architecture, Arc+ID delivers a curriculum that culminates in a Master of Interior Architecture (MIA) Degree.

A Unique Partnership and Accredited Program

The UNEX/Cal Poly Collaborative Program stands out as the only one of its kind offered on a continuing education basis in the nation. The Master of Interior Architecture program is divided into two levels: the Advanced Master of Interior Architecture Level and the Pre-requisite Foundation Level. It is one of a limited number of degree programs in North America fully accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA).

Master of Interior Architecture

The UCLA Extension Architecture and Interior Design (Arc+ID) Program offers world class educational opportunities for individuals interested in becoming design professionals. Through a unique partnership with Cal Poly Pomona’s Department of Architecture, Arc+ID provides a rigorous curriculum leading to a Master of Interior Architecture (MIA) Degree. Interior Design: Foundation Level Certificate

The Interior Design: Foundation Level Certificate is an open enrollment program taught by instructors who are practicing professionals in the fields of interior design, architecture, or fine arts.

Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for Designers: This hands-on course introduces designers to Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Legal Issues in Interior Design: Explore the breadth of potential legal issues in the practice of interior design. Identify some of the potential trouble spots in interior design practice that tend to generate lawsuits.

UCLA Extension Overview

UCLA Extension is the open-access, self-supporting continuing education division of UCLA. The Architecture and Interior Design program offers a variety of certificate programs and courses, including postbaccalaureate credit-bearing (400-level), continuing education (CEU) credit, and non-credit bearing general interest courses.

Instructors

Courses offer students the opportunity to learn from highly qualified practitioners who are passionate about teaching. Instructors use subject-matter expertise to impart knowledge to students and leverage additional resources appropriately to enhance the curriculum. Employment as a UCLA Extension Instructor is dictated by contract terms and conditions. As a University employee, instructors are required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time.
