Nursing Programs
Nursing is an honorable profession and a gratifying career. Nurses not only save lives but also offer compassion and kindness to those that need it most. In addition, they are often a source of comfort, safety, and security. Nursing may be a great career choice for those who are passionate about helping others, offering the opportunity to heal hearts, minds, and bodies. Unitek College offers several nursing programs, including:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program can lead to a rewarding career as a Registered Nurse or can be a pathway for current LVNs and Associate Degree RNs to take their careers to the next level. Attaining a BSN degree equips individuals with advanced tools and experience to meet the more complex demands of healthcare and nursing today. RNs play a vital role in the healthcare system. They assess and document symptoms, responses, and patient improvement among their many duties. They also assist during surgeries and treatments and can administer medications.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is a three-year program; however, those who have successfully completed nursing-board-approved Vocational Nursing or Practical Nursing programs and the required General Education courses may qualify for Advanced Placement status at Unitek. This status would allow eligible students to complete the program in as little as 2 years.

Vocational Nursing and Practical Nursing Programs
The Vocational Nursing and Practical Nursing Programs at Unitek College give students the knowledge, training, and confidence they’ll need to pass the licensure exam. Licensed Vocational and Licensed Practical Nurses assist physicians and Registered Nurses with caring for the sick, injured, or disabled. These programs prepare students with 12 months of instruction, at least 900 hours of hands-on training, and access to healthcare facilities. Most importantly, the program prepares graduates for the National Council Licensure Examination-Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN). This exam must be taken for graduates to become LVNs in California and LPNs in Nevada. By enrolling in the Vocational or Practical Nursing program, students will receive more than 900 hours of hands-on training in simulations, labs, and healthcare facilities. Unitek College also assists students with passing the National Council Licensure Examination-Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN) so they can become Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) in California or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in Nevada.

The goal of this post-licensure program is to educate and develop Vocational Nurses to become well-rounded professionals through undergraduate General Education. The goal of this post-licensure ASVN program is to help Vocational Nurses and Practical Nurses become more well-rounded professionals by completing the General Education and science courses commonly needed when applying to a Registered Nursing program.
