Universal Studios Hollywood is gearing up for a unique celebration of fandoms with its inaugural Universal Fan Fest Nights. Among the many exciting activities planned, one stands out for Nintendo enthusiasts: a special Yoshi celebration inside Super Nintendo World. Taking place on select nights from April 25 through May 18, 2025, this event promises a memorable experience for fans of all ages.
A First Look at Yoshi
Universal has shared the first official image of Yoshi as he will appear for the upcoming Fan Fest Nights events at Universal Studios Hollywood. Yoshi is in his classic bright green and white colors with orange boots. The image shows the character standing in front of a castle door. This marks the first time Yoshi will be available as a meet and greet character, allowing guests to take photos and interact personally with him. Previously, Yoshi appeared as a costumed walk-around character during the 2023 NO LIMIT! parade at Universal Studios Japan. Fan Fest Nights will mark his second-ever worldwide appearance.
Universal Fan Fest Nights: A Celebration of Fandoms
Universal Fan Fest Nights is a special ticketed event that celebrates fandoms of fantasy, science fiction, anime, and gaming. The event will include special activities themed to Jujutsu Kaisen, Back to the Future, Star Trek, Dungeons & Dragons, and more. Super Nintendo World will also include new activities and food celebrating Yoshi. Tickets and add-on options for Universal Fan Fest Nights are on sale now and range in price from $20 to $373.
Guests in Super Nintendo World during Universal Fan Fest Nights will be able to participate in a Yoshi egg-hunt, eat themed specialty snacks, and ride Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.
The Yoshi Egg Scavenger Hunt: A Detailed Guide
For those seeking a more immersive Yoshi experience, the Yoshi egg scavenger hunt offers a delightful challenge. Participants receive a Yoshi paper crown upon entering Super Nintendo World through Princess Peach’s castle. These crowns are free and available to each member of your party.

Unveiling the Clues
The crown features five egg-shaped slots, each containing a clue to the location of a hidden Yoshi egg within the land. Additionally, there is a gold medallion sticker space for collecting all five egg stickers. The clues, concealed beneath the stickers, guide participants to find a red egg, a blue egg, a pink egg, a yellow egg, and a green egg.
The clues on the crown read:
- Placed high & dry
- Upstairs in the cold air
- High above Peach’s reach
- Hidden from light’s sight
- Where two bros pose
Embarking on the Hunt
The scavenger hunt requires participants to decipher each clue and locate the corresponding colored Yoshi egg. These eggs can be found in various locations, from near your feet to inside a block punch room or high on a ledge. Once an egg is spotted, take a quick picture and head to the nearest Nintendo World employee in the clue area to receive the matching color egg sticker. These employees are easily identifiable by the lines forming near them.
Claiming the Gold Medallion
After successfully spotting and collecting all five egg stickers, seek out another Nintendo World employee nearby who is handing out gold stickers. Once the gold medallion sticker is affixed to the paper crown, the scavenger hunt is complete.
The Special Yoshi Reward: A Meet and Greet Opportunity
The ultimate reward for completing the Yoshi egg scavenger hunt is a special meet and greet with an alternate colored Yoshi. It is advisable to save the egg clue “Upstairs in the cold air” as the last sticker to collect. This particular egg is located upstairs in the Frosted Glacier zone, near the overlook binoculars.

The line to meet the special colored Yoshi is conveniently located on the same level, near the stairs leading to the overlook. Show the completed crown to the Nintendo World employee to gain access to the queue. Depending on the area's busyness, expect to wait approximately 30 minutes in line. The specific colored Yoshi available for the meet and greet may vary throughout the evening, adding an element of surprise.

To complete the Yoshi experience, indulge in the Fan Fest Night’s Yoshi-themed snacks at the Toadstool Cafe. Options include Yoshi’s Fettuccine Alfredo and a Yoshi’s Apple Melon Smoothie.
