The OIE offers a variety of professional growth and job opportunities for students. The Office of International Engagement (OIE) fosters a supportive and engaging environment that provides students with hands on work throughout a variety of different opportunities. From helping to organize Orientation sessions, to general front desk responsibilities, and program planning; we strive to provide students with a wide variety of professional growth opportunities during their time at OIE.

The OIE typically employs 10-15 student staff members in various capacities, including standard student employment, internships, and graduate assistantships. These positions offer students hands-on experience in areas such as event planning, communication, and program coordination.

Social Media Assistantship at OIE

One exciting opportunity within the OIE is the Social Media Assistantship. This position is ideal for students with a passion for social media and a desire to promote international engagement on campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating social media projects in a timely manner with clear communication of project timeline, needs, expectations, etc.
  • Capturing content for social media pages at after-hours events (outside of 8-4pm).
  • Maintaining media equipment and introducing new ideas to staff.
  • Aiding in the preparation of events and initiatives of the OIE Office through social media and community communications.
  • Working independently on individual tasks with clear communication to supervising staff.
  • Creating consistent timelines and program planning to be submitted.

Requirements:

  • Driver’s license and experience in driving.
  • Initiative and creativity.
  • Ability to work some after hours (outside of 8-4pm) events in order to capture content for social media pages.
  • Ability to independently work on individual tasks with clear communication to supervising staff to update.
