The Southern Miss Golden Eagles baseball team boasts a storied history, representing the University of Southern Mississippi with distinction in NCAA Division I college baseball. The Golden Eagles' rich history began in 1912 with a game against the Detroit Tigers, a contest which Southern Miss lost by a score of 24-2. This inaugural game marked the beginning of a long journey marked by resilience, determination, and ultimately, success.

Southern Miss established itself as a dominant force within Conference USA (CUSA). The team's consistent performance led to six CUSA Regular Season Championships (2003, 2011, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2022).
