These folders, configured with the involvement of the HIPAA security officer (or designee), provide a secure environment for handling sensitive data. The Madison SecureBox service provides a free online file storage and collaboration service to store ePHI. It is available for UW-‍Madison staff to share ePHI data with collaborators (internal and external to UW-‍Madison) when a departmental solution is not available and the amount of data to be stored is less than 50GB. The SecureBox Service is not intended for use as a file transfer method.

Use of a departmentally managed device is required; personal devices are not permitted.

To obtain a new SecureBox folder or modify an existing one, a request form must be completed.

Boxes over 65 lbs may be subject to a $30 charge.
Deliveries outside a 10-mile radius from campus incur a $10 per mile charge.
Cancellations for pickups or deliveries on dates other than free featured dates will be refunded in full if cancelled in advance of 2 business days for pickups and 3 business days for deliveries.
Pickup/delivery fees greater than $100 will be granted a partial refund of any amount in excess of $100 if cancelled/rescheduled 1 business day before a pickup or 1-2 business days before a delivery.
Items placed in storage are covered for up to $150 based on the company's terms and conditions. Electronics need to be in original packaging to be covered.
Each box you ship will have a declared value of $150 with UPS.
