The Thesis Experience

Writing the thesis is a core experience of the History M.A. Program. M.A. students often begin working on their thesis in the summer following their first year of coursework.

Preparing for the Future

The study of History at the University of Wyoming provides students with the tools to comprehend the present in order to prepare for the future. Challenging courses are designed to facilitate critical thinking and the development of analytical skills. Each of our courses features the discussion of complex issues, the development of writing and reading skills, and is generally oriented toward promoting individual enrichment. The professional skills that the History program instills transcend our field and allow students to work toward a variety of career choices such as business, law, government service, public history, archives and museum work, education, management, writing, and graduate studies.

Financial Considerations

Tuition and Fees

During the 2019-2020 academic year, part-time graduate students at UW paid an average of $843 per credit hour if they came to the school from out-of-state. Funding for research is limited in M.A. stand out from other graduate programs.
