Western University is committed to student success, offering a wide array of resources, from professional and career development to mental health services and engaging events. This guide provides a comprehensive overview of the resources and processes available to WesternU students, ensuring a smooth and successful academic journey.
Accessing Support and Resources
WesternU students have access to numerous resources designed to enhance their academic experience and overall well-being. These include professional and career development resources, mental health services, and various events and symposiums. The university is dedicated to helping students succeed by providing state-of-the-art facilities and compassionate faculty and mentors. The academic experience at WesternU emphasizes the human touch in education and the medical industry.
The WesternU Support Portal
The Western University of Health Sciences' Knowledge Base and Service Catalog can be found on the webpage support.westernu.edu. The portal, also known as the Client Portal or TDClient, is accessible from anywhere via support.westernu.edu. To view your tickets and access internal articles and service requests, make sure you are logged in to the site.
- Search Bar: Use this to search for articles or service requests that fit your needs.
- Service Request Information: This section will show the name, tags, and information about the service request.
- Links to articles and service requests do not change, even if their names or information do. Use the search function to best find what you are looking for.
- If you are unable to find a specific form, there are General Use forms that can be used for each department (General IT Request, General Facilities Request, Etc.).
If you find links of our test system, the links can be updated by replacing "westernu.teamdynamix.com" with "support.westernu.edu". New content can be submitted by filling out a TDX Content Request Form using this link. Please note, not all requests will be able to fulfilled or completed.
Safety and Well-being
Student safety is a top priority at WesternU. The university encourages all students to adhere to safety guidelines and utilize the on-campus services available, such as mental health support, wellness initiatives, and escorts to vehicles.

Enrollment Confirmation and Fees
Once you've decided to attend WesternU, you'll need to secure your spot in the incoming class by confirming your enrollment. A one-time new student enrollment fee of $450 will be due when you pay your first quarter tuition and fees. This fee covers new student orientation, advising, and academic support and cannot be waived. Financial aid can be applied to this fee. If you were admitted close to the confirmation deadline, you have three weeks from the date your offer letter was printed to confirm your enrollment.
Financial Aid Opportunities
Financial aid is available to help meet the costs of tuition, books, educational supplies, housing and meals, transportation, and personal expenses. To be considered for financial aid, you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA), which becomes available in October. Your FAFSA or WASFA must be submitted by January 31 (Western’s priority filing date) to be considered for the most favorable financial aid.
Academic Engagement
Honors College
Join the Honors College to engage deeply with your faculty, your major, and your learning community.
Declaring a Major
If you believe you’re ready to declare a major at Western (e.g. if you have completed prerequisites for your intended academic program), you are encouraged to make contact with academic departments prior to course registration. Departmental advisors can provide information about major requirements and prerequisites and can grant permission to register for courses you may need.

Please claim your WWU Universal Computer Account as soon as possible. You must first claim your Universal Account in order to access the MPA.

ALEKS Math Placement Assessment (MPA)
While not everyone needs to complete this assessment, most first-year students and many transfer students do. Scores from the online ALEKS Math Placement Assessment (MPA) are needed to register for the majority of math courses at Western and serve as prerequisites for some courses in other departments, such as Astronomy, Chemistry, Computer Science, Decision Sciences, Economics, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Geology, Physics and Science Education. The assessment must be taken twice. We recommend you complete both assessments at least two weeks before you attend an Advising & Registration session.
Housing Information
On-Campus Living
Living on campus is optional, yet the majority of new students choose this option. All students are eligible to live in university residences. Residence halls are more than just places to sleep. They provide instant community, make it easy to familiarize yourself with campus, and are within minutes of classes. If you’re interested in living on campus, you’ll need to apply for housing by the housing deadline.
Western offers a variety of housing types. Residential communities include substance-free, affinity communities, all-gender options, and more. Check out the University Residences site for complete information about Western's residence halls, roommate options and housing rates, or apply for housing now. Housing applicants who have confirmed admission will be prompted to pay the $200 housing prepayment in the MyHousing Portal. Roommate Manager is only available for incoming Fall residents. Room Selection is only available for incoming Fall residents. Opening times are based on the size of your group, your Housing priority date, and if you have asked for a themed community. If you do not select a room by the room selection deadline, we will assign your room.
Health and Immunization Requirements
To ensure the health and safety of all students at Western, proof of measles (rubeola) immunity is required. Please note that two doses of the MMR (measles-rubeola) vaccine are required and you must submit proof before you will be allowed to register for classes or live in Western's residence halls. Options for providing proof and additional information are available from the Student Health Center. If you were immunized in Washington State, the Student Health Center will securely get your immunization records from the Washington State Immunization Information System (WAIIS) with no action required from you. This means you won’t have to track down your immunization records and upload them yourself. If you don’t want us to access your records, that’s no problem-you can opt-out.
Orientation and Transition Support
The Office of Orientation and Transition provides resources, navigation support, and referrals to campus departments and services to support students and families in their personal, social, and academic transition to Western.

Advising & Registration (A&R)
Attending Advising & Registration (A&R) supports your transition to campus with academic advising and class registration for your first quarter courses. You will gain access to the Virtual Advisor, an online academic advising Canvas course, at least 3-4 weeks before the first Advising & Registration (A&R) session. Review the Virtual Advisor before your one-day virtual A&R session.
Transcript Submission
If you earned any college credit after submitting your application for admission, you must request to have your official college transcripts, AP, IB and Cambridge exam results sent to the Office of Admissions as soon as they are available. Submit your official final transcript (with your diploma posted) by the deadline.
Confirmation Fee
Once you finalize your decision to attend Western, a non-refundable $350 confirmation fee is required to secure your place in the incoming class. This one-time fee helps pay for new student orientation, advising, and academic support. If you were admitted close to the confirmation deadline, you have three weeks from the date your offer letter was printed to confirm your enrollment.
Residency Status
Check your residency status. Your residency status is noted in your acceptance letter. Becoming a Washington resident after enrollment is extremely difficult, so be sure this classification is correct.
