The University Libraries boast an extensive collection of materials in various formats to cater to diverse research needs.
Print and Electronic Resources
From a Reference Collection to millions of print and electronic books and journals, Wright Library supports study and research at all levels. If the materials needed are not available within Wright State University Libraries or other Ohio institutions, the Interlibrary Loan system facilitates access to resources from libraries across the United States and Canada for current faculty, staff, and students. Last semester Dunbar Library had physical materials sent to it via Interlibrary Loan.
Special Collections and Archives
Special Collections and Archives at Wright Library comprise more than 100,000 printed works and over 5,175 linear feet of archival and manuscript material. These collections offer unique insights into specific areas of study and historical significance.
The Wright Brothers Collection
The collection consists of more than 6,000 items and includes the Wrights’ own technical and personal library, family papers including letters, diaries, financial records, genealogical files and other documents detailing the lives and work of Wilbur and Orville Wright and the Wright Family.

Aviation History
Special Collections and Archives also preserves the broader history of aviation in the Miami Valley, including the history of early airplane manufacturing, aerospace medicine, and human factors engineering. The archive holds collections such as the Kettering Family Papers, the Dayton-Wright Airplane Company Photograph, the Dr. Stanley C. White Papers, the WACO Aircraft Company Photographic Collection, the Dr. Malcolm L.
Theological Resources
Wright Library supports theological study and research at all levels. The Charles G. Reigner Collection, and reserves for Princeton Seminary courses, provide specialized theological resources. Wright Library recently trialed and has now purchased perpetual access to three new collections on Bloomsbury’s Theology & Religion.

The Friends of the Wright State University Libraries present events such as: “From Wright State to the Space Station: Who Knows Where a Book Might Take You?”, featuring Emily Morgan, WSU Alumna, Educator, and Author.
Book Clubs
The Friends of the Libraries, WSU Alumni Association, and the WSU Retirees Association sponsor book clubs. Books such as The Husbands by Holly Gramazio. Discussion will be via WebEx. On March 17th, our final Friends of the Libraries' Book Club book will be discussed. Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar, winner of Dayton Literary Peace Prize for Fiction. Exhibits
Visit the second floor of the Dunbar Library to view the Service and Sacrifice: Black Experience in World War II exhibit located in Dayton Holocaust Resource Center.
Special Observances
Celebrate Black History Month with this curated bibliography of books, articles, recordings, research databases and more. Wright State University will be closed Monday, January 19th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
