On-Campus Housing

Students who choose to live on campus can stay in SK Global House or I House.

  • SK Global House: Exchange students are assigned to single or double rooms depending on their selection in the application. Rooms at the SK Global House include a bed with bedding, closet, desk, desk lamp, chair, bookcase, window shade, small refrigerator (single rooms only), internet access (ethernet), and a bathroom in each room. Additional facilities include a study room, lounge, laundry room, music room, multipurpose room, and a common kitchen in the basement.
  • International House: This housing option is open to female students only. Exchange students are assigned to double rooms. Rooms at the International House include a bed with bedding, closet, desk, desk lamp, chair, bookcase, window shade, small refrigerator, internet access (ethernet), and shared bathrooms on each floor. Additional facilities include a study room, lounge, laundry room, seminar room, and kitchenette on each floor.

The prices for on-campus housing per semester are as follows:

  • SK Global House, Double Room: $1,506

Independent Housing

Yonsei University does not assist students with finding independent housing. The cost of living is the most expensive in Seoul and averages between $1,100 and $1,600 per month which includes housing, food, transportation, and other expenses.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Yonsei University offers various scholarships to international students, including the Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP), the Yonsei University International Student Scholarship, and the Global Leadership Scholarship.

Yonsei University Exchange Scholarship

For all students accepted for exchange, the Yonsei University Exchange Scholarship will provide an overall living stipend of 2.6 million Korean Won once the student is on site to cover housing (reimbursement) and additional living expenses. NB: Although housing costs will be reimbursed (see below under Finances), it is your responsibility to complete the online application for housing and to pay the deposit during the summer preceding your arrival, as reimbursement from the scholarship takes place upon arrival in Seoul.

UCEAP Global Scholarship

Every UC student can apply for a Global Scholarship of up to $2,000 to defray costs with the help of UCEAP scholarships.

Additional Expenses

Additional Requirements for Yonsei

All students applying for an exchange program are required to meet with a program manager before submitting their application. If taking courses in the language of the host country: Foreign language evaluation, completed by a faculty member in the appropriate language department. You can send the evaluation form electronically to your evaluator from the online application or download a paper form from your application that you can submit directly to Education Abroad.

Eligibility Requirements

You are eligible to apply if you meet the following requirements:

  • Are in good academic standing and meet minimum GPA requirement for the program
  • You meet minimum cumulative GPA requirement from all colleges/universities attended. As of May 2025, the GPA requirement for most programs is 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Exceptions include: Rome Internships: 3.0, Exchange Programs: 2.75, External Programs: various, provider requirements may differ from Temple's
  • You remain in good academic standing from the time of application until the start of your term abroad; students on academic warning are not eligible to participate.
  • Are in good disciplinary standing
  • You must be in good disciplinary standing at the time of application and remain so through the start of your term abroad. Students who have been found responsible for a code of conduct violation and will not be in good disciplinary standing (including disciplinary probation) may submit a petition for review.

For Yonsei, the following additional considerations apply: Students will be selected mainly based on academic fit and demonstrated interest in the host university and/or location.
